HOW TO TEST SINGLE PHASE ASYNCHRONOUS MOTOR WITH A MULTIMTER.
THE TESTS DONE INCLUDE;
1.)open circuit test in each of the two windings.
a.)open circuit in the starting winding.
Measured between Z1&Z2 on the terminal plate.NB// Z1 and Z2 is the start and the end of the starting winding respectively.
b.)open circuit in the running winding.
Measured between U1 and U2 on the terminal plate.NB//U1&U2 is the start and the end of the running winding respectively.
2.)Short circuit test
a.) short circuit between running and starting winding.
measured between U1 and Z2.
b.)Short circuit between running winding and the body.
measured between U1/U2 and the body of the motor.
c.)short circuit between starting winding and the body of the motor.
Measured between Z1/Z2 and the body of the motor.
3.) Insulation resistance test.
Done using a megar meter.

So you explain about the start and running windings but nothing about how to connect capacitors? poor teacher.
