The trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin will continue as scheduled after the judge denied the defense team's motion to delay or move the trial after the city's $27 million settlement with George Floyd's family. Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill also ruled that a portion of evidence from George Floyd's 2019 arrest is admissible. Aired on 03/19/2021.

So, are they trying to say drug use contributed to his death? Because I'm pretty sure having a knee on your neck while you're pinned to the pavement for 9 minutes was also a big contributor.

There is no place or person in the country that every detail for this case is unknown. The footage of the killing was shown all summer long and a 27 million dollar settlement is big news as well. The only other choice would have been for the ex-officer to sit in jail for a few years waiting for the memory of the case to cool.

What about Chavins police history. To delay is to deny. One cop broke the straw and shook up the world. If he is killing people in broad day light in front of subordinates then imagine what happens when he is on the night shift.

Given the fact that George Floyd was already handcuffed, why was there One cop leaning with his knee on George Floyd's neck along with two others restraining him when he was already restrained instead of simply putting him into the police car??

I do not care what Floyd did in his past, or what he was or wasn't guilty of. He did not deserve to die at the hands of police, especially the way he did. No one does. Chauvin made the conscious choice to kneel on his neck, even though Floyd was being entirely compliant with him. He made the choice to ignore his pleas for help and that he couldn't breathe. The situation Chauvin is in is entirely due to the choices HE made on that day. There's no getting around that.

It can't be moved. It's a trial for a crime that's nationally being watched and followed. Not one person is unaware of it unless they live where the buses don't run.
