Courts like Judge Judy are not needed in such serious cases. Opinions mean absolutely nothing, the only things needed, and desired are facts, evidence, and truthful answers. Opinions are left to the likes of me and millions of others NOT in a court of law.

The judge is right - he doesn't want the jury numbed into submission - that would be a further injustice.

This is the best judge I have ever seen/heard, he not only knows the law but he has very good common sense too.

Hey judge, please don’t throw this trial.

Expert Opinion does matter, because officers make judgement calls all the time. Training can not cover all variables. This is the prosecutions time. As long as defense is limited to the same number of opinion witnesses it is fair. This forces lawyers to prioritize these witnesses.

You can't please everyone in this world so, please yourself and be done with them! They'll wish they "reacted" differently!

Prosecution needs to be careful, slow, and thorough as they prove something *beyond* *reasonable* *doubt*. The entire nation is watching this case-of-the-decade and it’s unclear to me why the judge feels the need to rush it.

People commenting negatively on the Judge either haven't really watched or don't know what they are talking about. He is keeping it from becoming a circus.

Testimony should be based on fact and not opinion. Fact is relevant, opinion is not.

The lead Attorney is working for free, he normally charges $600/he. The pathologist wanted to be in the trial so he waved his $300/hr fee. Why can't the state use their own employees?

They need to have unbiased witnesses. The people testifying have plenty of reason to go along with the prosecution. Not only do they need to keep their jobs, they probably don’t want the violent mob coming after them if they were to defend Chauvin in any way. It’s not fair for the defense. Not to mention Derek made cop’s lives miserable. They are hated by a lot of people because of his actions. Hopefully the jury will take into consideration that these witnesses have plenty of reasons to go along with the narrative the prosecution is giving.

Expert testimony has been very damning to the defense.

This is ridiculous. The state has hired a bunch of top private lawyers to prosecute this case.
On top of that, this jury does not look like the state of Minneapolis at all. And they disqualified any potential juror who was afraid for their safety, aka, anyone who was considering not guilty as a possibility.
I can't believe they didn't move the trial

The prosecutor hopes that by repeating an opinion enough times that the jury will confuse it with fact. It is still just an opinion and one that is easily manipulated by politicians in this case. Any officer who expresses a non-party line opinion other than the ridiculous, obvious lies the department has claimed in contradiction to their training and their own official policies that they changed after the fact will find themselves unemployed after the trial and everyone knows it.
