I get mad when companies will put that leaping bunny logo on a product because that one specific product is cruelty free but they try to pass it off like the whole brand is.

I heard mixed reviews with Dove. It's gets confusing..
A lot of of companies use technicalities as well (3rd parties/China), which is annoying

Something to keep in mind is lots of products or brands are cruelty free but are owned by a company that is not. Take Dove for example. They say they are cruelty free but are owned by Unilever which is not. So your money is still going to a company that tests on animals.

Yeees! “Turn and learn” is the way! Didn’t know I am doing that “unconsciously.” 😅 whether be it on food, drinks or skincare for me. 😁 love from the Ph 🇵🇭

Cassandra or Anyone Here, I’m curious about the first skin care / personal care brand (or company) to be brave enough to be different and go 100% cruelty free. Today we take this for granted, but it was groundbreaking at one time. Took real courage to have a conscience. Animals even today are still seen as beings to exploit. Back then everyone had the “It’s just the way things are done” mindset. Even though people didn’t like it, they were not going to do anything about it. Is the first company still around? Who in the company made it happen? Was there backlash? How did they cope? That would be an interesting story…

From what I read on the leaping bunny website NO the labs are not checked, NOBODY goes to the actual labs, they just ask for a receipt of the purchase they made to their suppliers, its written on their website.

Can you tell us what brands tried to claim they were cruelty-free? I remember when neutrogenia came up with that “natural” skincare line. I noticed a bunny on the packaging but it was the leaping bunny, it was like they put a fake bunny on it to claim they were cruelty-free.

Sometimes I look for certification. Or sometimes I just look at the ingredients list and see if there are ingredients that are more likely to animal derived or animal created like lanolin, collagen, ceramide, honey, beeswaxs, etc. Sometimes just not having those kinda comes close to being vegan or cruelty free or at least vegetarian. Also, check for brands that likes to use plant sounding stuff for its brand name or products. I found a shampoo from a brand that is against animal testing even if the product itself is not certified vegan or cruelty free and sometimes that is the best you can find.

Most of the influencers know it but they don't speak about it. Maybe they think that this can decrease their reach. I wrote to them to speak about this issue openly. But none of them replyed. Dii, we want more influencers like you, who has such indepth knowledge in this sector at the same time aware people of this cruel reality. Never support such initiatives who violate the rights of our fellow living beings.🙏 There are alternatives, always.🙏💚
