Can you talk about using all these ingredients in a daily and weekly routine? Which ones shouldn’t be used together and which ones could be used alternatively? Also is hydroquinone used as a spot treatment and how often should it be used to see a difference?

Aa a dark skinned person the horrors we've heard of hydroquinone growing up make it a bit tricky for me to use. But if it's regulated properly and won't whiten my skin, then I'll def try. Product reqs would be appreciated

Good morning Doc! Can you please talk about how to cycle HQ. There is so much information on staying away from it and the scary possible side effects yet it is ranked Queen in Hyperpigmentation.

If you could help us understand how to safely use it that would be amazing! I am trying to get rid of or at least lighten sun spots on my cheeks. I have been consistent with prescription retinol, finacea and vit C and tinted sunscreen for about 4 months and have the prescription for HQ but I am a little nervous to know when I should start using it and how to cycle safely. My Dr didn’t even mention cycling…I only learned that from you! So I’m waiting to feel more comfortable.

Thank you for being so generous with all of your knowledge to not only help us save time and money, but to educate us and keep us safe! Love you dearly! Love from Canada 🇨🇦❤️🥰🙏🏾😘

I'll keep using my sweet Queen Bee, retinol. It really works after a few weeks. I couldn't believe my eyes. So happy! ❤❤

Great video:) Thank you! I wish so much I would have had this information when I first started treating my melasma and really taking care of my skin. It took me well over a year and a half to finally understand all of these products and how I should use them, and what types etc. It was really difficult trying to figure it all out tbh. So thank you for doing these:) Will you please do some long form videos about which products to use for melasma etc? Thank you Dr Idriss❤

This is so true I'm from ph, i have been doing this everyday and following her orders, I have been with my dermatologist since the last 3 years ever since i have had pcos and sever acne. She prescribed me these specific ingredients:

For my skin clearing therapy i used this every night
*Tretinoin, Hydroquinoine.
With moisturizer that contains
*Niacinamide, Arbutin, Clairblance and gigawhite.

For morning i just washed my face with water, used my toner, it has Azelaic acid, Tranexamic acid and Bearberry extract. And sunscreen after. Can't believe that this is the only routine i needed and the results are amazing. I'm 3 steps from obtaining smooth and healthy skin. ❤
When we need help the most remember to always consult your trusted dermatologist who will listen and be with you during and after the process. They'll help, you just need to consult them directly.

Since I’m young and don’t have spots I like tranexamic acid for daily use. It’s not irritating and amazing for sensitive skin but helps even out skin tone.

A dermatologist prescribed me Triluma cream, which contains Hydroquinone, Tretinoin and Fluocinolone (A corticosteroids) I was told to apply once at night time for two hours only on the melasma patches on my face. Thereafter wash it off with water thoroughly followed by moisturiser two times a day. In three days of application my skin turned red & my whole face skin would start to peel off including lips, on which I never applied & the peeling would continue for a week. At that moment even moisturiser application would sting. The sad part is that after the skin peeling my skin looked super dry, flaky & melasma is not going anywhere. I showed it to my dermatologist and she said it’s normal. So somehow I continued for one month and I gave up, because it seems to be getting worse. Finally she tells me that only laser would work, which sadly didn’t work either & the melasma on my face increased. Finally she said that glycolic peel should suit me, which thankfully it did. Very very slow process but my skin started recovering. I asked her the strength of the peel, which she didn’t tell me. So I started on my own at home. I started from 30% for two years, not much of joy though with melasma but skin was looking more hydrated. Then I switched to 40% glycolic peel for a year. A slight improvement in melasma and skin has become much better. Now I have switched to 50% glycolic peel. First time I have used. My skin is doing very good and melasma would take its own sweet time I guess!
I have been struggling with melasma for almost 8 years. Started with the ayurvedic treatment which didn’t work, a lot of home remedies, didn’t work either. Finally reported to dermatologist, which didn’t go well either. The only blessing in disguise was glycolic peel which I got to know after so much of hit and trial. That too my skin doctor was nice enough not to tell me the strength of the glycolic peel🙃.

I have been following your video. Do tell me if there is anything else I can do to improve my melasma. It doesn’t seem to be leaving me. I apply moisturiser with 5.5 PH twice & broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 55 (Photostable gold) every day even at home. When out of the home I wear large brimmed sun hat accompanied by face mask (thanks to corona) & a sun glass which doesn’t have metal rim. I am more or less like an invisible person out of the home. Still no joy😢. Do help!
I am not only the subscriber of your channel but have been following your videos as well, which has been helpful indeed.
I am from India. Regards 😊
