I’ve been taking collagen for about 5 years now. I’m going to be 50 this year. Let me tell you, I feel stronger, healthier and have virtually no joint pain at all. All throughout my 30s and part of my 40s I had terrible back and joint pain. As far as skin goes, it glows.

I've been taking Great Lakes Collagen Hydrolysate for about 2 years now, roughly 5 times a week. I must say I noticed a visble reduction in the fine lines on my face. I stopped taking it once for about 4 months or so and I did notice the fine lines appearing again. Back on it now regularly for about 3 months and my skin is plumper and healthier again. It works.

Been taking Vital Protein for 5 months, truly have felt a huge difference in knee pain. I'm 60 and have had knee pain for the last 3 years and was starting to think about knee replacement. I know longer have knee pain, especially when walking down stairs. Another benefit is that my nails are stronger and grow faster. My hair also grows faster, haven't noticed difference in thickness. My skin is sagging on face due to sunbathing in my teens. I feel there's a subtle difference in firmness. Hopefully this improves as I continue to take collagen in my morning coffee.

Grass-fed collagen peptides most definitely works on all joints and spinal discs -- takes about three months to notice significant difference in flexibility. While there might be some skin and hair improvement, it is not significant in my case -- age 65.

I’m 28 and have been taking collagen for 2 years none stop. I do intermittent fasting and in my 8hrs window, I consume green smoothie, and mostly plant-based meals. I have sugar once a month ( mostly period craving), I wear SPF even when I’m home to protect my skin from harmful rays that come in through the windows. And I exercise and jog 3 times a week at least. People think I’m 18-20. Funny thing is that once a bus driver let me in for free because i was behind a bunch of high school students and thought I’m with them. So, it’s really not a scam and yes- you can age gracefully and naturally.

It use to hurt daily now it only hurts on occasion. I am convinced it works. I am not sure about my skin as I started now to take care of my skin sooo it looks so much better since starting with actives etc.... I have been taking Vital Protein bovine. One scoop a day❤️❤️❤️❤️

Four years ago I went through highly stressful situation which caused some hair loss. About a year later someone recommended a powder collagen. It's a very popular one that Costco has been carrying for years now. That particular one did absolutely nothing for me. I was, at the time so desperate that I decided to try some different brands. I was about six months into my search and I found Trunature verisol. I was so hesitant because it is pill form and the dosage is 4. After completing my first bottle, I went in for a haircut. I took my hair clip out and my hairdresser of over 20 years yelled out, "oh my God your hair got so long what the heck did you do?!" I did end up getting annoyed with taking 4 capsules along with my other supplements, so I discontinued that particular collagen, and I absolutely noticed my hair falling out more. I am back on it, I never complain about the amount anymore because It works for me, so it is what it is. So my long winded point is that I believe collagen, along with any other supplement, is so individualized. It really is about putting some time in, trying different ones, and paying attention to changes if any.

I have taken a powder collagen for about 10 months. I believe my skin benefits from the collagen supplement. What I noticed immediately was my nails. I have always had paper thin nails and my nails got strong shortly after taking the collagen. The other thing I noticed right away is my hair wasn’t shedding nearly as much. My reasoning is...if hair and nail show immediate improvement...then I’m sure my skin must be benefiting as well. I am a young 70 and I give collagen supplements a thumbs up.

Hello Doc, Thank you for the video. I'm sort of a health geek obsessed with aging gracefully. At 63, I've had great results with collagen supplements. On the other hand, as you've suggested hydrolyzed collagen peptides, TYPE 1 and TYPE 3 appear to be an effective combination for anti-aging effects. 11grams per day along with 500mg of Vit C seems to do the trick. Great for skin, joints, and internal organs. That's right! You even poop better. :-) And the miro-needling, absolutely! Appreciate your wealth of knowledge. Blessings, Michael

Just getting enough protein from diet and much cheaper sources would suffice. Your body breaks down both oral collagen and proteins into amino acids and reforms them as it sees fit - be that collagen or any other numerous proteins or peptides. Any collagen that may make it past your digestive tract into your blood can be synthesized by your body just the same given enough of the much cheaper sources (food and regular complete protein supplements).

I started taking the Garden of Life collagen because of crepey skin on my forearms. My face hadn't started aging, but my arm skin sure did. Honestly, I believe the GOL collagen helped fill my skin back in again. Now it snaps back like when I was younger. I'm 57 and trying to keep what I have and possibly improve it as well.

From what I’ve studied its best to take a full hydrolyzed collagen supplement I, 2, 3, 5, 10 and from multiple animal sources as well
