Planet Coaster 2 Performance Issues You Need to Know Before You Buy | Playing Planet Coaster 2 Early Access on PC, I’m facing unexpected performance issues that may surprise and disappoint fans, so it’s best to be aware of this before buying the game. PC-SPECS DOWN BELOW - Please keep in mind that, with all Planet games, bugs and issues can be very personal. The fact that I have these issues, but other content creators don't seem to have them, shows that already. 🧐 It is also a fact that, at least from what I remember, some console players with Planet Zoo had the same issues as well. I have no idea if these problems were soon fixed or not. Frontier is looking into these performance problems I have as we speak, but I don't know if they are able to find the cause or if they will be able to fix this in time before launch. ⏳ I’ll be sure to keep you all posted here in this comment if there is any update to share.

I forgot to mention in the video that I recently went to a PC shop to check my complete PC setup to ensure it’s ready for Planet Coaster 2, and they did not find any issues after doing several tests and cleaning. 🔧 So I do feel like I have excluded any PC problems on my end here. Also, the fact that I don’t have these same issues with Planet Zoo with big files and many guests or Planet Coaster 1 shows that this does seem to be an in-game issue and not on my end.

something is definitely not right here, you shouldn't be getting these big stutters at 800 guests. it looks to me like a cpu or ram issue, but if you're not having trouble in any other game or software i'm not sure what that would be. what are the specs of your system?

The game is capped at 6k visitors. IN Planco 1 we had much more than that. I don't understand how a game from 2024 is better optimized (since it uses direct x12) than a game from 2016 and is limited to that number of guests.

One thing you can try is to have a look at the task manager (CTRL-Alt-Del) in your windows while the game is running. Sort by memory usage, GPU usage and CPU usage. See if any of those spike or overflow when a stutter happens and that will tell you what the possible problem might be. You can also see graphs in the performance (prestaties) tab of each of the relevant elements. It could be a shortage of video memory or too little RAM memory. There are a lot of peeps being moved around and those all take up a bit of processor power and memory.. anyway. Have a look and see what you can see :)

It's barebone Planet Coaster with water rides and a better pathing system, why isn't it the same content as PC at least?
Can't they sell new themes and rides later rather than the same as PC? Frontier in a nutshell, double dipping.

If you have this on Nov6: This seems like a CPU/RAM issue, which is dependant on the individial setup of voltages and timings. Try running other or no overclocking profiles on your RAM and CPU and see if it becomes more stable, even if you might lose the overclocking performance.

This was a concern of mine leading up to launch. I'm hoping they can make some fixes... But I'm not likely to buy at launch. I had issues with the way PZ & PC1 ran. What GPU & CPU are you running?

One thing i’m really confused about with this game which i left a comment on Rudi’s video is there being no custom music. Custom billboards we got later in planco 1 but custom music was a day 1 thing in that game and that not being here is really confusing.

More and more negative things that I hear are starting to worry me. I want it to be that good but I will only play it for a maximum of 2 hours on release and will wait, otherwise I will exchange the deluxe edition. It would be really sad if it were a flop. Thanks for this important video!

Sad to see Planet Coaster 2 seems to have the same problem as Planet Coaster 1… I’ve never been able to enjoy the first one because the game would grind to a halt when I got more than 500 visitors…

Seems like I will not pre-ordering after all.

So sorry to see, that you have those frustating freezes when playing the game. Especially after all the long wait. Since it only happens with guests, I suspect it has to do with the CPU. I do not know how much playtesting they did in before hand but it will most certainly be fixed with the next update or hotfix. But seeing them capping the max count is certainly not a good sign. Let's hope everything works out after next week.

You have an Nvidia card, so instead if using Amd FSR3 use Nvidia DLSS, and use quality or balanced setting. Maybe this helps.
Than sometimes it helps to stop windows defender to check files while playing the game...
Check if it runs fine when you are not recording videos?
Than it could be denuvo drm or that you have little bit to less RAM (not sure if you are having 16gb or 32 gb (2x16gb) of Ram), if you have 16gb maybe an upgrade to 32gb could help.

Looks like a memory leak nearly every newly released game has it. It could just be people need time to spread out and let the LOD do its thing. When Roller Coaster Tycoon had too low a guest cap the park was too empty once you filled the map with rides and if you set it with low entry fee but price per ride you went bankrupt because most rides get three people per hour.

AMD FSR 3 anti-alising boosted frames for Rudi.

When I used to play the elder scrolls online I had some freezes on certain occasions, and I figured the game was making use of a single core. But it also might have something to do with RAM resource allocation as well. Or its a game issue, most likely.

Make sure you've updated every driver software.

I was wondering about the new path system. I’ve seen a lot of videos, but always wondered how they could tell the height of their paths.

It could be a graphics card issue that you’re experiencing. Maybe a future driver update would help?
