I have extreme high hopes in Frontier addressing the water slide physics; maybe with the same animation technology the Flying Turns/Swinging coaster use.

Non-simulated water slides is ridiculously disappointing. Half the fun in RCT3 was making huge slides and having to worry about whether the rider would fly off the slide on bumps and banks. Even doing it on purpose just for fun.

An insane misstep by them. Nerd3's video is going to be very sour on this point.

I do hope we can get some fixes in the future and they listen us.
Im excited for the game but theres some concerning things and things that they seem we have regressed from planco. No invisible kerbs, and things that they will probably never fix like the water rides or the drop towers, which makes me sad, not gonna lie.

One thing i hope is coming back is the option to upload custom OBJ files to their workshop! This is how we got cool real life objects like the actual Disneyland sign and character... And with the new coaster designing option imagine downloading a "coaster body" like the real cosmic rewind and put it over the "off brand" the game have🤯

I also feel like they really messed up with the water slides, also the slide povs (especially the special elements like the halfpipes etc) look very jerky and terrible

What's crazy to me about the lack of watersides physics is that they already have physics like that in the game for the bobsled coaster. It behaves like how you'd expect a watersides to behave.

YES!!! Rudi I agree I too loved Soaked and I remember when it came out I was running to the store to buy it to play I loved RCT3 and played and played it...I still play it sometimes in these days. It was a very good game :D Happy gaming!!

A note about the UI: I play Planet Coaster (1) on console and Planco 2 looks like the menu layout that I'm used to seeing. I wonder if they tried to make a shared UI instead of 2 different versions of the same game. Could be nice for us console players but I also feel bad for PC players who seem to get a slight downgrade.

I think for an initial release, the content and new gameplay features are enough. However, there is SO MUCH they will absolutely have to work on during the lifetime of the game (e.g. those flat slides need to be fixed. If they could do it with RCT3 back in the day, they certainly can now. Slide animations still look wonky, there is a load of "content" missing people have been absolutely BEGGING for such as an Intamin Multilaunch, Mack Extreme Spinner, etc). Certainly curious to see what the first few updates and DLCs will bring.

I think as a starter foundation for future updates and expansions, the base game is probably in the best spot out of any theme park tycoon game out there. Obviously there’s room for improvement in areas, such as slide physics and in certain features like station varieties, I feel as though the net positives of this game vastly exceed the net negatives. And in five years’ time, many if not all of these issues people have can be addressed. Games are rarely a “one and done” thing; they evolve constantly through updates and DLC, in some instances many years after the initial launch. Hence why I’m not TOO worried about PC2 rn. Time will determine how this game lands in the public eye ultimately, as it did with PC1 and many other games out there

The slide physics (or lack there of) really bother me. I was looking forward to having water parks in the game but as of now, the water slides are just too unrealistic to use. Not only did roller coaster tycoon 3 pull it off, but planet coaster 1 did as well. The bobsled and suspended coasters use the swinging physics they need on the slides. I don’t understand why they can’t just use the same physics model they did on those two coaster types for the slides. I’m really looking forward to the game, but the slide physics are a huge let down.

So when this is the final version, its still not good enough or in my opinion more than a big dlc. Coaster stations still are senseless in this style. No customize options or seperate stations for enter and exit.

My only guess with the lack of physics was for the sake of making the game run smoothly but that also makes little to no sense. My hype was so high until I looked at the peep physics - that and how unfortunate it is that the peeps swim in the same areas that slides end. There should be an option to create ‘exit pools’ like how in real life, pools where slides end are usually off limits unless you are on the slide but you are also required to leave as soon as you get into the pool. Well, in New Zealand its like this anyways :)

I can't help but feel that they should've had more time to make this game. Some things from PC1 haven't even been touched and the slides... I probably won't use them because of how bad they look. I'm still buying it tho, it's clearly a better version of PC1 that seems to be worth the money

That was my fear all along. As a huge RCT3 fan/ player, I personally loved the physics for waterslides. I feel like legit physics make intense waterslides just that more intense and interesting. As exciting as it is to have waterslides in PC2, that aspect is disappointing.

If you watched the last livestream on Steam they show how they make the queue like that. It's basically using the grid and 2 90 degree corners and the edge of the path changers to the sharp edge.
