I really miss when themes were like this when characters fight. In order to represent the clash, their styles of music would intermingle. You can just feel Sonic’s upbeat and collected nature clashing so hard with Shadow’s angry and distorted nature. Classic.

I always thought this was one of the coolest and most memorable moments in Sonic history... After considering Sonic to be an annoying pest of a fake hedgehog, Shadow realizes Sonic as a "Dangerous" threat after escaping the capsule... As they accelerate to battle, they each pay respect to each other's abilities and this song plays to the motif of the scene before it... I love how epic this is, an ultimate showdown with heavy stakes for them both... One thing that I always considered is how the intense DnB percussion and Tambourines seem to represent Sonic's quick sprinting and the Pulsating Drums and Tom Fills represent the smooth movements of Shadow's jet skates (especially with his SA2 animation) I hope they recreate that same feel for the 3rd Sonic film...
