I remember seeing this for the first time years and years ago in the early 2000s as a kid. That piano and the overlapping voices and all of the words on screen were overwhelming, but powerful.

it's unbelievable how good this segment was on it's own, it's insane to me to see something of this caliber come from a sonic game of all things, literally a series based around speed and wacky adventures with friends

the adventure series was something else, well it's a product of it's time and SEGA were doing a lot of experimenting with the sonic franchise at that point, i wish we could see that type of innovation again instead of the typical speed simulators we usually get

I remember getting excited about this exact video as soon as I unlocked it. Kingdom Hearts didn't take me by surprise since I played Sonic Adventure 2 before any Kingdom Hearts, and I don't regret it. I miss the 2000's edge

If the Sonic 3 movie ever does come out, or they start production, I really want them to capture the Shadow we saw in Sonic Adventure 2. We dont need a dark edgy Shadow who hates everyone. We need the Shadow that was broken and confused. The Shadow the hedgehog who had a heart and made a promise.

You can really tell that Sonic Team were going all out with this game especially with the darker storyline. Listen I know Sonic fans are divided on literally everything and Sonic stories are one of them. Some people prefer a lighter, goofier Sonic and other people prefer a more serious, high stakes Sonic. I personally prefer when the games don’t go too far in either direction. The tone of Unleashed, Adventure 1, Black Knight, and the Sonic OVA come to mind.
