compostable plastic needs extremely high heat otherwise it doesn't degrade, you've kind of undone all your hard work there. Stay as plastic free as possible no matter what the label says. trying to be zero waste now and plastic bin liners were one of the first things to go.

My municipality discourages putting "compostable bags" into the municipal compost collector. Also, my bin hatched a splendid crop of maggots, so obviously, some kind of insect managed to get inside of it. Any suggestions? This was an expensive product and now I cannot use it. Oh, yes: and its contents smelled, something fierce.
