It's blowing my mind that no one on the production team thought to microwave any of these. So many of these items are supposed to be microwaved and eaten hot.

In case you didn’t know, Japan LOVES carb. From noodles to rice rice to a pastry, Japan is a carb kingdom. Yakisoba pan is a staple bread as well as croquette pan. We eat gyoza with rice, which dumpling themselves should be enough carb on one sitting but we won’t have it any other way. There’s even a seasonal Mcdonald menu called “Guracoro burger” which is a burger with croquette with gratin with macaroni as a filling, which is a deep fried carb filled with carb sandwiched together with a slices of carbs.

I have to point out that many of these would be eaten hot - expertly microwaved by the teen or octogenarian behind the register.

I feel like these items not being microwaved is an injusticee

Babish and cdawg is not the crossover I thought I needed...but here I am

I’m Japanese and I feel the crew picked many of the worst snacks that no one really eats on its own in the convenience stores 😂

In all 7/11 that I’ve been in Japan, they had microwave and toaster oven to reheat hotdog buns, etc. Makes a big difference to eating it cold from a shelf

Babish is basically fits the most stereotypical American or Western palate

Natto is usually eaten with a bowl of rice to help balance the taste/texture of the food. It's an acquired taste and very healthy for you.

Maybe they needed more info on how to eat the food properly. Mix natto more, heat up food, use rice etc. Kind of a miss this one for me.

This food are safe not because of a lot of preservatives, but because these food are fresh. Every evening they put sale stickers on fresh food so they will sell out everything.

this just shows how some people like wildly diffeent textures. I absolutely LOVE how squishy and mushy the yakisoba buns are

20:45 half expected Chris Broad to burst through the wall like the KoolAid man when it got to the fried chicken

The fact that you don't know how legendary Japanese 7/11 is and that you're a food vlogger really disappoints me.

Why did he not heat up any of the items that are meant to be eaten warm...

25+ years in Japan. I wish I could pick out stuff for you. Most stuff you picked out are over-hyped and not locally known; except for the egg sandwich and chicken :)
Here is one item you must try; the Salty Butter crisp Melon-pan from Lawson. No video on it on Youtube, but its one of the most popular among the locals.

You, seeing Connor in this video makes me incredibly happy, definitely a crossover I didn’t expect.
