I love that guga is a relatable enough boomer he's actually went into japan blind with no research on what to eat and get. It's refreshing to see actually cause im the type to spend 2 years learning Japanese watch non stop japan videos and then go

The Japanese 7-Eleven egg salad sandwich is by far the best I've had in my life, after having it for the first time I made sure to eat at least two every day I was there, words cannot explain how good it is, I don't know what they do to make it so good. Glad you liked it!

My favorite is going to the markets at the basement of the malls and shopping centers towards the end of the night. They start marking down all their precut meat, prepared sushi and sashimi around 630-7pm. Starts at 10% off and slowly gets up to 70% depending on how late it is and how much is left. Sometimes can have $70 worth of sushi for $15-$20.

The 7-11's were literally one of my favorite parts of visiting Japan! The huge variety of really good food items for CHEAP was amazing and we went multiple times a day! Family Mart is also the same way as well. Those egg sandwiches were a big hilight for me, SO good.

Given it's Japan, Guga could probably make a whole new series just trying out all the different kinds of snacks they have, let alone full fledged dishes or recipes.

For the pudding. Usually the pudding cup have a stick-out nub at the bottom of the cup. What you want to do is flip the pudding cup, place it on a plate and break the nub. It will release the pudding onto the plate without breaking the pudding

As someone who went to Japan recently and ate at convenience stores like 7-11, Lawson, and Family Mart literally every day, I can confirm that the food they have is delicious!! 😋 Absolutely worth the price! The onigiri is so good too 🍙 and their breakfast foods

I knew instantly that you will love the egg sandwich. When I was in Japan it was part of my daily breakfast (instead of having breakfast in the Hotel we went to a Convenience Store and got our breakfast there). And the egg sandwich was one of the best things I ate in Japan, it was simply amazing.

For those who don't know, 7-Eleven is a Japanese owned company. Ito-Yokado, a Japanese supermarket chain acquired a 70% stake in 1991, and the company became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seven-Eleven Japan in November, 2005.

Seeing Guga review a variety of foods/snacks has made me so happy!

Guga should do this more often!

And I am so glad all the 7-Eleven foods were amazing.. ! Now I know what to get if I ever visit! <3

I had the pleasure of living in Japan for 3 years. Their taste in foods is very different than what is typical in America, but you will come across some amazing foods there. I miss the food and the culture to this day, and It's been 20 years since I left there.

Hi from Japan, Guga!
I understand the food from the expensive store. The small appetizer stuff is at times weird, even to us locals.
Glad you liked the "reasonable" convenience store stuff; they really make your day.

Hi, Guga. A fan from Japan. So happy to see you enjoying our country. Regarding department store food, some are good, but some are just down right just costly and weird. My thought is, the convenience store food is more stable in quality and much much cheaper.
Btw, the custard pudding is steamed and the caramel sauce is intentionally made quite bitter to balance the sweetness.
Looking forward to more videos from your time here.

It's been so rad seeing your channels and brand grow from all those years ago. You all deserve your success and more.
I watch this channel stoned a lot so always make me feel warm and fuzzy.
And hungry.
