Work Less and Achieve More

This year has been very strange. Completely unexpected but very welcomed now that I look back on it.
Backstory - I was that sucker that was obsessed with the hustle. I was working alll day every day. But my body finally taught me a lesson this year. And I’m so grateful.

During this whole “body won’t let me work as hard as I used to “ year, I was exposed to the idea of working less but making more - a book written for existing business people (or those wanting to get into business) by James Schramko.James became my mentor for a few months as well. This was a real shock to me because it was just a concept I hadn’t considered before, but now it seems so obvious and simple. Why make everything SO hard? Why not try to figure out an easy and efficient way to do something, to make room for living instead of just working.

Change is on the horizon for all of us. All of us are being exposed to new concepts of reality we wouldn’t have considered before and I believe it’s making room for a happier, more grateful and beautiful world.Bring on 2020.

What are you going to ditch as 2019 rolls out?

What are you leaving behind in 2019 as you step into 2020?

I love that now, 5 months later, the year 2020 is already stranger than 2019, but in a very different way.

"We are so stressed out, that we are not thinking about doing better" That hit me DEEP. Thank you!

I love how she said, “we need isolation” “we need hibernation time” to be creative and boom Covid-19 happened and we are all stuck at home 🤯. The universe is a strange thing

Former burnout patient here, I spent two and a half years laying in bed with extreme pain due to being so exhausted. I learned this as well, enjoy and focus on the things that matter. Work less and become more efficient. Unfortunately working extra is such a hard thing not to do in this society. Loved this video, more people need to know about this

Watching this in 2020...You thought 2019 was crazy and full of self reflection. 2020 is going to turn that up x1000.

I chose "HOPE over fear" as my 2019 mantra and it worked quite well so far. I'm sure taking this one with me and double down on it.

“Your value is not in the car you drive, the house you own, the relationship you’re in, the amount you’ve traveled, the children you raise, the business you run, the following you have, and the weight on your scale.

Your value is in your existence.

Once we let go of society’s expectations, then we can begin to ask ourselves and understand what truly makes us happy.”

I journaled this this week. I’m growing WITH you Sorelle 🤓

I finally left my corporate lawyer gig to pursue my passion in 2019. 2020 is definitely the year I truly spread my wings and embrace this new nomadic lifestyle! Love this video and I love you Sorelle!!!! Thanks for inspiring so many to take the leap and find their happiness!

2019 was the year I started therapy for the first time, and this has changed my life. I've changed my diet, I'm taking my meds regularly, and it has actually improved my disability, which has ruined my life for the last 8 years. Thank you for your videos, for making me FEEL things, when I believed I was just so numb. You're such a good thing for this Earth, and you are making a great impact. This year I want to live from my art, and it's stressing me out, but I'm also excited. I wish you good things for 2020!

I took off work for a month during Covid and when I had to go back I cried a lot because I realised that 12 hour shifts away from my home was burning Me out. While I was home I picked so many new things to do and stayed busy. I made it a point to never be bored. I felt more creative and happy. And currently working on changing my job situation and it feels right.

One of my colleagues called 2019 the year of spiritual rehab! So true!

This was eye opening for me as I'm the type of person that lives by the "I'll go at my own pace" philosophy, mainly because traditional education systems never taught me the things I wanted to know fast enough, but never seemed to allocate enough time to actually understand the concepts they teach so I can actually grasp it.

This year was coming to terms that teaching myself (doing my own research, finding other sources like online courses to do outside of school) is the only way I can succeed because it's always what has worked. And overworking myself to conform to a grading system to have a "good average" isn't something I should work toward if what I really want to do is be exceptional at one field in particular.

Oh, babe, i can be productive 16 hours in a row. But i concentrate it in 3 days in a row. I give the big push... then it's done. I'm earning more than i ever have in my life, i've got 4 days a week to do other things (like YouTube videos), AND i take 4-5 months vacation a year where i do zero work, and travel. I am self employed. ❤ I don't use social media or watch TV except chosen YouTube channels.

the other day I decided to write a recap of the last decade. It made me realize that I spent my entire late teenage years/early 20s working to pay bills. The entire time I wanted to make youtube videos but always put it aside for work/bills. So I decided that from here on out I'm gonna shift my efforts to being creative and make videos that Ive been wanting to make. Really looking forward to the next decade!!
