More than 3 million without power as Hurricane Milton tears across Florida

Hurricane Milton churned across Florida on Thursday after plowing into the state as a Category 3 storm, bringing misery to a coast still ravaged by Helene, pounding cities with winds of over 100 mph (160 kph) after producing a barrage of tornadoes, but sparing Tampa a direct hit.

The real fear was those tornadoes. You don't know where they are going to hit. How much they will wipe out and they happen fast. The entire eastern coast of Florida was Tornado Alley. I saw some footage. Those were monstrous size tornadoes. Gave me PTSD just seeing them. You left people defenseless.

That was the most dangerous part. The cat 3 was the backend. That first half was the ultimate nightmare. Tornado Alley, 140 mph winds, rain with no visibility and massive damage.
