That first story was almost indentical to my cryptid encounter in Linville Gorge, NC.

First story was not in the superstitions. Maybe four peaks. There are no pine trees in the superstitions.

I solo hike here with my Blue Heeler often. Spent hours and hours and over 100 miles in the area. Weaver's Needle, Boulder Canyon, unnamed canyons between here and Saguaro Lake, Hackberry Springs, Black Mesa, Wave Cave, Hieroglyphs, Lost Dutchman. AMA.

Like 15 years ago there was a show on ID called Disappeared ( I think ) a treasure hunter chasing a treasure from the gold rush chased clues and finally thought he knew the location so he told his family said he'd be back in a week or so to be never heard from again.

Black bear is the only bear in Arizona. No grizzly bears have been seen in Arizona since 1936.

Gotta call BS on the first story.
There are NO FORESTS between Phoenix snd Apache Junction. I lived in Apache Junction at the base of the Superstitions for a year. There is nothing but desert landscape anywhere around there.

Grizzly bears in the superstition? Since when? I camp near there . Never heard of bears

In the first story it mentions thick pine trees which is funny because the superstition mountains don't have thick pines

Excellent timing as always. My aunt and uncle have their winter home in Mesa Arizona, so if/when I go visit I'll see if I run into anything 😉

I live in a town south east of Phoenix which the name I will not give out. And I live so close to superstition that I can just walk outside and have a clear view of it and to get a better idea it’s not even a hour drive to the mountains. And sometimes i would walk around at night and I would hear some scary stuff. Like howls and screeches. And every time I look at the mountain I just get a dark and creepy feeling.

Shimmering Knife is an odd name for a motel. I don’t think I would have stayed there, no matter how tired I was!

I think it’s a better name for a steakhouse. Yum!
