Visited Delhi a few weeks ago, and this was the most brutal experience I’ve had. 50th country I’ve explored, and though the food is honestly fantastic, the filth, traffic, both air and noise pollution, humbled me to the core.

you gotta ask yourself WHY it's the most polluted and it's because they accept it as normal. There are much bigger cities with a lot more people that are much much cleaner.

I visited Delhi, and its such an assault on the senses, the smells, the sounds. I can't believe anyone can live there, and I say that as someone who spent their twenties in Manhattan.

I grew up mostly in or around Delhi, worked there for 5 years as an adult, and then moved to Switzerland for postgrad. It's like when you're accustomed to Delhi's air, the lack of pollution (especially when the difference is as dramatic as pristine alpine air versus the most polluted city in the world) feels like you're suddenly able to perceive a new colour. I could smell things more clearly. My 'yearly cough' which would last for weeks in early winter which I thought of as a seasonal bug, is no longer a thing because turns out it was my body struggling to accommodate the peak in air pollution in Delhi in early November. My stamina has dramatically shot up, and my eyes no longer feel scratchy during commutes. I don't have to dust anywhere near as much, because Delhi air is so full of dust you'll find surfaces covered in a thin film of it the very next day. Heck, one day it was foggy in Geneva, and from my tenth floor workplace I could see that visibility had greatly reduced and I could no longer see the lake that the city straddles - I started feeling nauseous - holding my stomach, sitting still nauseous. I realised later that it was literally just my mind reacting viscerally to an association I'd subconsciously started to make living in Delhi - 'fog=poison death cloud, SHELTER IN PLACE'. All of this is despite the fact that as a finance lawyer, I always lived in a shielded little bubble; working desk jobs in climate-controlled spaces in the city's less densely packed neighbourhoods, rather than being out on the street all day as so many people must for their sheer livelihood. I hate-love Delhi, and I really wish things improve within my lifetime. But as of now I will BEND. OVER. BACKWARDS to get to live and work anywhere else.

I’m from France and I had the opportunity of visiting a state called nagaland in the northeast, so much better! It’s almost as if you’re stepping in a whole new country, not being racist but even the people look different there, and the best part they’re big time meat eaters, even beef which was quite surprising considering the case in other parts of india. Also was quite stunned to learn most people are Christians there which is again a quite contrast. Reminded me of my time in thailand. I’ll honestly suggest that part of India or the south, I’ve heard it’s relatively cleaner there too

Such videos should shown on indian national TV at Prime time to evoke the their Consciousnesses so that certain self respect & civic sense will ignite and keep their sourrounding clean.

Unless you've actually visited India in person it's hard to imagine the scale of pollution on land, sea and air quality.

Delhi is insiane. As an Indian i'd like to say 95 percent Indians lacks civic sense that includes our top leaders and the remaining 5 percent suffers. Littering is so common here and education system is so messed that is is al based on cramming and getting jobs. NO civic education what so ever eventhough that should be the most necessary component of this country. Nationalism is so strong that people blindly thinks that India is the best place to live and they wanna keep living in the mess and without making any effort towards any improvement. Government is there to bully the poor and help their crony capitalists friends. Thankfully I am leaving this messy city.

Grew up in Beijing, China in the early 2010s, I'd remember vividly that I used to have severe asthma and issues regarding my lungs when I was 7, ended up with countless of restless nights at the hospital, solely because of how appalling the air quality was back then (Exceeded 300AQI on a daily basis). Hopefully things will improve in Delhi!

Coming from a country as clean as Australia, I can't imagine never seeing blue skies and finding it special. We're so lucky, no wonder so many Indians want to move here!

And someone in India spent $100 million on a single wedding. That amount of money could have transformed the lives of many people in the country, whether by improving living conditions, healthcare, or education.

I understand that this video might be difficult for some to watch, especially if it’s about a place you care deeply about. However, it’s important to acknowledge the issues being highlighted. Denying or dismissing the problems won’t help in finding solutions. Constructive criticism and awareness can lead to positive changes. Let’s focus on how we can improve the situation rather than just defending it.

You should have visited Northeast India. It's way different from the rest of India and you'll amazed.

Ben actually makes better travel films than anyone on TV. Always a great watch!

Most of the comments are just associating whole India with just a single state that isn't even 1500km compared to whole size of India that is 3 million km. I myself despise the pollution of Delhi and criticize it but states that are far away from delhi are just pleasure to the senses.

A Sikh 'temple' is called a Gurdwara. And that piece of cloth you wore on your head is called a Ramal.
