Unity Playground: Make games without programming

preview_player
Показать описание

Unity Playground is Unity's first project dedicated entirely to absolute beginners, educators and anyone looking for an initial introduction to game development in a more simplistic form.

This 2D, physics-based project contains a collection of single-action Components which you can use as building blocks, and combine them to create any type of gameplay. Simplified Inspectors for both Playground scripts and built-in Components mean that new users will not feel overwhelmed by the number of options.

In addition to all of this, the project comes with five example games to play and learn from.
Use the Playground for teaching, learning, or just introducing yourself to the world of Unity with loads of colorful 2D art assets and some great environments to experiment with.

Nice Idea. I'm a Unity teacher for kids, and this will have infinite value for me. Thanks for this asset.

I don't understand why some people are complaining about this.

Games can be made without just look at Fallout 76.

*Cool idea! Now Unity's challenge is to enable advanced developers to use Unity with the same simplicity because advanced developers also want to save time with using of Unity.*

Honestly, Visual Scripting is a better way to bring people to game development than this, because it gives them more freedom, and programming knowledge. But this is a good step forward, for sure.

An intuitive and creative way to encourage novice creators into the field of game development, it has great scope for design potential outside of the very basics shown here, I'm impressed! Every programmer has to start somewhere and this is the perfect platform to allow the opportunity to play before exploring the intricacies of code.

I think its a great idea. My kids build levels in Minecraft and Roblox so this easily targets that market and helps them get used to the interface.

this is great, but there are already so many beginner tutorials, I wish there were recent intermediate ones, also some about the new features and workflows

Wow, scratch has merged with unity?

PS: Actually this is a good initiative to teach game programming basics provided that unity doesn't let these games make it to the market. It's making bad image for unity. Cheers

Cool, this is exciting news! Now, we need a way for young learners to be able to quickly share their work! It's not easy to export games out of Unity.

Its great guys, BUT the tutorial should show alot more. How do I add a background? Why is DESTROY ACTION not adding that explosion that I want when I destroy an asteroid? Why is destroy for points the only way to really destroy something? Some of the things are explained in other tutorials, found them by accident. Can you add an order? Watch from A to E and max out the lil space game. Something like that.
