Hey Aaron, love this series so much! I'm just a beginner but I actually saw a little trick in another tutorial: the rule with the spot healing brush tool is, if you want to replace an area that's too bright -> change the mode to Darken. If the area is too dark -> change the mode to Lighten. Worked reeally well for me, would love to hear your thoughts on this! :)

I find that switching the mode to "Replace" at first and then using "Normal" after avoids blurry healing.

Thank you so much sir, The lessons are perfect for anyone beginner or intermediate and by the way since the first day till now i am using Affinity Photo and everything works the same only the selection part is a bit hard in affinity, At first i thought affinity photo does not have Layer Blend but those who uses affinity it is next to the layer there is a setting button and that is called Layer Option that works the same as layer blend .

Another great tutorial. I usually turn on some music and "zone out" when I remove blemishes. Something that's also great, but was missed in the video is stray hairs. There's one just to the left of the ear that's showing you could have gotten rid of with the spot healing brush tool as easily.
