Jim is one of my favorite commentators on this show, loved it.

Jim has to be the top DB guest. The shift in priority to how inflation is impacting the majority of Americans was pretty sobering. Working at a street brokerage I can attest that this has yet to fully sink in.

A thumbs-up for Ash. I've been watching financial/economics YouTube vids for about 3 and 1/2 years now. He's the best and most professional presenter/interviewer I've seen in terms of knowledge, clarity and pleasantness/niceness. Certainly, if he's presenting and the headline interests me, I'm 100% here. Doesn't get the credit he deserves.
Give him a pay rise Raoul before he packs his bags and heads to CNN etc.. ;)

It's time for them to pass legislation to prioritize families over investors in the bidding process for homes. 🏡

Don't ignore all the pensions and retirement accounts of the boomers! Do you think the government is not going to save this swath of the population???

We were off the gold standard before we were officially off the gold standard.

No Bitcoin will not be a global reserve asset. To be global reserve currency it has to be an asset that increases in size. Two things are very important 1 the money needs to depreciate slowly so it makes it easier to pay back borrowed money 2 the asset must grow with the economy. If the reserve asset cannot growth with the economy ithere would be an deflationilary relationship because as the economy grew you would have ever less there would be a set amount of dollars chasing more and more things produced in the economy.

I don't get how anyone can rationalize a move away from USD as a reserve currency because it isn't backed by anything. Then in the same breath say BTC could be a viable alternative. What is BTC backed with? Honestly, even gold's value isn't backed by anything other than its (limited) usefulness (and scarcity). At least silver has a fair amount of utility.

7% increase in food costs means people need to stop buying those $6 coffee drinks twice or 3 times a day. Problem solved.

Inflation 7.5%😂🤡. Everyone knows in reality it is 12%~18%! Fed still doing QE, rates at zero, buying mbs! And they are talking about maybe, kind of, sort of, doing a 1/4 point hike in the near future? The Fed is so hawkish😂

In other words, real savings rates will remain below zero, and savers will remain under the bus.
