Inflation is calculated using the current CPI model. I am pretty sure that if you used one of the older models from the 90's then inflation is probably well above 10%

Even if we start lapping higher numbers next year and it appears that inflation is lowering I don't buy that until I start going to walmart and grocery prices on items are back to where they were instead of just not increasing.

You need interest rates to be equal to or greater than inflation to have any impact. QT can also impact inflation, but 200 billion reduction of a 7 trillion increase is probably not going to do much more than the higher interest rates.
