Tailhook rigging the 7 inch Scented Jerk Shad

This rigging has helped me quadruple the catch rate of "skiing" the @ZManFishingProducts inch Scented Jerk ShadZ. Special thanks to @KayakAdventureSeries Angler of the Year Ryan Parker for inspiring this and collaborating on the experimentation that led to this solution.

If you want to use the snell knot, but worry about pullout through the hook eye that you had in your last video, take some tying thread and close off the hook eyes. Do a bunch and throw them in your box. Won’t change a thing for rigging anything else. I like those flipping hooks because if you use a snell, the knot is protected behind the eye.

Have you tried tying the stinger directly to the hook bend? You could measure and pre ring easier that way.

Haven’t ever crimped braid but if that’s possible that could help the distance issues in tying to the flipping hook

Thanks Jeff. I’ve always wanted to ask why you choose the 7” over smaller sizes? Is it for the better action you get with the 7”? I haven’t tried the larger size yet.
