I wonder why the ATF is stepping up enforcement on pistol brace equipped firearms.

In this video I show a solid reason someone may have written in to the ATF asking for a guidance document on what factors are used to determine if a pistol brace equipped firearm is an SBR or not.

Don't let Gun advocacy group and brace company sponsored Youtubers stand in place of your own due diligence. Always verify the claims they make.

They will tell you they tried to reclassify them. FALSE
They will tell you that they tried to ban them. FALSE
They will tell you that they wanted to force everyone to register. FALSE
They will tell you they were trying to make new regulations or laws. FALSE

They will tell you every angle that could possibly end with you feeling the need to either go out and buy a brace, or donate to their Gun Group like GoA etc.
They might even promote their own products in their call to action videos. Fear Sells.

Reading the documents without their power of suggestion it says

"Objective Factors for Classifying Weapons With “Stabilizing Braces”; Withdrawal of Guidance"

A Guidance which is defined as "advice or information aimed at resolving a problem or difficulty, especially as given by someone in authority"

They are simply giving out clarity on how they classify pistol brace equipped firearms. This is nothing new. They have been using these factors to determine if manufacturers can market things as "ATF Approved" or not for a long time now. They are telling the public the factors they use to determine if a brace equipped firearm fits constructive intent of an SBR.

Police: “We’re here to enforce the law.”

Also police: “We don’t know what the law is.”

Them not clearing the weapon a single time shows you everything you need to know.

Imagine our founding fathers seeing this. Cops tell a civilian he can't carry a certain firearm while they are carrying that certain firearm.

Be sure to remind the officers that "Ignorance of the law is not an excuse."

The first cops seems to be worried about feelings not laws

The fact that the guy asked if he had a tax stamp…mind boggling how ignorant they are to the federal gun laws. That’s you’re damn job! A lot of people (sometimes including myself) think these audit stunts are more harm than good but this one within the first 2 minutes shows you how ignorant they were to our rights under federal law.

As a police officer i have to say thier knowledge of the difference between a pistol and a rifle is an embarrassment.

I laughed out loud when they whipped out their iPhones to google search pistol braces. 😂

I can't believe the officers were so clueless about AR pistols.

I like how all the cops are still gripping their weapons whilst this man is disarmed.

I hate when cops try and lecture. It's especially obnoxious when they are lecturing people on things like, "optics" when there is no law broken.

To be fair, the ATF puts out stupid regulations and classifications all the time. Even as a gun owner it's hard to keep up with their bullcrap. In all practicality, that's a rifle. It's just the ATF's stupidity that labels it a "pistol."

Even so, by the videoer's own admission he was just doing it to "educate" the police by causing public panic. I'm all for the second amendment but using it to intentionally cause a scene only makes people hate guns more. You'll never change the stigma about guns by using them to incite panic. Be a responsible gun owner.

As far as the cops go, if someone is reportedly walking around with a gun around kids, they need to be cautious and make sure everything is okay. I'd prefer cops like these being vigilant and ensuring everything is legal rather than the uvalde cops. Yes, they should study up on gun laws, but they're not ATF officers, so they're not going to know every gun law on the spot because they usually don't deal with classifying guns or taking them unless they're involved in a crime. I know many people want reasons to hate cops but take a moment to put yourself in their shoes. If you got a call that someone was in the park with your child carrying a gun and walking around suspiciously, would you not care? Would you say "well I'm sure he's just exercising his second amendment rights" or would you make sure everything is safe and this person isn't a threat first then say it's their right? Too often we like to place blame on cops who are just people with a job that is intense and dangerous, yet we act like they're the ones that made the laws they're sworn to uphold. In this case they looked up the laws and everything was fine. They didn't shoot the guy or beat him or do anything out of line.

And lastly, the ATF is an unconstitutional organization that's against the second amendment and they should be dissolved. Their regulations and classifications are made by people who have no firearm knowledge or experience whatsoever.

Gotta love all the insults the cops throw at the law abiding citizen for carrying a pistol.... while carrying pistols 🤦🏻‍♂️

I understand we have rights I do, but I never understood people putting themselves in dangerous situations by open carrying especially with an AR pistol platform. A lot of people don’t understand firearms and will always express caution.

Don’t you love when the law enforcement experts have to Google the law on their phones.
