One of the best motorcycle racers in the world, former MotoGP rider, 2010 Moto2 Champion & 2017 MotoAmerica SBK champion, Toni Elias, coached me for a day. He also helped me setup my motorcycle suspension & geometry.

Thank you for sharing Mike! Just goes to show that it really pays off listening to the pros. Also seems that Toni Elias is an above average capacity in actually being able to pass on his knowledge. Many riders just instinctively knows what they are doing. Not many of them are able to actually pass that knowledge on to other riders. So also a huge shout out to Toni Elias!

It's a known fact that people throw money at the latest exhaust...while having their suspensions and setup way off.

That last sentence of the video is so on point. People like to talk shit about the back markers in MotoGP (people like Tito Rabat) but forget that those people are still at a level of skill that's leaps and bounds beyond what most people can do.

That's the moment you realize how much infos those guys are able to process on a bike. This is just amazing !

Toni is wicked in the corners and I'm so unsurprised he was able to help you make these awesome improvements! It would be really cool to see an update from you on these techniques after a month or two of practice and dialing in your bike

I never thought hiring a coach would help as much as it did…it transformed my riding. Such a mental change.

Great video Mike. I raced AMA motocross 40 years ago and haven't thought of riding competitively since. I have watched just about all of your videos and am really liking this type of racing but never thought about it until now. Unfortunately there aren't tracks anywhere close to home (one motocross track) or I'd get my old ass back in the saddle. Everyone needs someone to lap, it makes them feel good. I could be that guy! LOL Liked and subscribed.

I seriously hope that you thank him for beating Vale at the photofinish at Estoril in ‘06, when Dani low sided into Nicky and allowed him to get to Valencia in a slightly better position to then win the championship

@Mike
Toni stated in Spanish media : in many circuits in USA you struggle for Grip, so this makes an even battlefield for everyone.
Unlike most people think, small/light weight riders are at disadvantage in MotoGP.
Why?, Your single rubber provider will offer All the grid a limited number of Compounds, rather at the hard side, therefore slim riders like Toni, Pedrosa, McCoy ... Will struggle to warm up enough to Optimal working temperature. threshold .
However they share a outstanding talent at setting suspensions, geometry etc.
To compensate for this handicap condition.
