I share the same sentiments with you. I got mine recently in Vienna on a trip with my mother and she bought it for me; it’s something that has a huge sentimental value now; something to remind me of Vienna, my trip, and the bond and fun I had with my mother. People should relax and just enjoy the watch, as we all do/did when we got our Swatches.

'Not a watch you'll hand down to the next generation. You'll be lucky to get it back to Omega for a battery change!"....🤣

For me the watch is all about the story. I’m quite young (teenager) and this was my first watch. I got the watch on the initial release by camping out with friends for over 20 hours and it was such a fun experience that I’ll never forget. The experience resonated with me to the point that I passed on the £500 profit I could’ve made at the time and decided to keep the watch. If it was all for the materialistic aspect of the watch, I would’ve sold it ASAP, it’s not a watch worth the price but every time I look at that watch when I wear it, it reminds me of the: crazy interactions we had in the night, Americans who were out partying coming and dancing, the rush and buzz from everything that was occurring, etc. I’m not really one that attaches experiences/emotions to materialistic things tbh but this one hit different

I agree - the Moonswatch is objectively dreadful, but my Mars model just makes me smile when I wear it. (And isn't that really what the hobby is about?)

I wanted a Mission to Saturn Moonswatch when they were first announced, but given the QC issues, availability, scalping, etc. I ended up getting a brand new Tissot V8 Automatic Chronograph. It was really difficult to make the case for a Moonswatch when I was able to pick up a 100m water resistant, mechanical, Swiss chronograph for less money.

Having been a watch collector (from my dad to me and to my son and daughter, now) - I was caught up with all the buzzy and hoopla around the Moonswatch (like millions of others). After being very frustrated with the lines and striking out on buying even my 1st through the Christmas holidays, I basically wrote off getting one. Then, on a holiday trip to Kota Kinabalu (Malaysia), much like the narrator, I walked into the main Swatch store, no line and they had a good selection of Moonswatches… over 3 days, picked-up 3. Got the 4th back home in Manila. Yes - they are more “toy” than substance and, delicate too… But, they are fun and it is easy to see why there is such a fever and continued one at that till now. I liken my investment to something to enjoy over its life, which should be a tad longer than a couple of decent bottles of wine over a dinner over the course of a year. So, in short - I enjoy my investment.

The moonswatch got my girlfriend to stop wearing that awful apple watch all the time, and start looking at other watches. She got 1 compliment about her watch during a meeting, and things changed. I bought her a 36mm steel blue PRX she loves it. Mission accomplished!

I had a Jupiter for a few weeks and only wore it twice before selling it again. If they were cheaper and easier to get a hold off, I'd say the Moonswatches were a fun collectible, but being really hard to get a hold of and being too expensive for what you get, kinda leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I'd rather pay a little bit more for a Seiko or a Hamilton that you can actually enjoy for many years.

I received a Mission to Uranus over the holidays as gift from my wife. We enjoy the tongue and cheek humor of the name. I personally really enjoy it the way I loved my Casio's and Swatches growing up. I know it's a Quartz plastic watch but the color of it and the fun nature of it makes me smile. Personally, I love the hate it gets from watch snobs. FYI.. If you are giving that much attention and hate to to plastic watch? Well, it just says a lot more about you than the person wearing.

Got mine just yesterday. Wanted one since it came out. The real Speedmaster is a far reach for now, but I also absoutely did not want to buy any fakes. The homages I had were nuce, but it never really was "the real deal". The MoonSwatch just nailed it for me!

I walked into the 5th Av store in NYC at the right moment and was offered a choice of 5 types, went for the Mission to Mars, it’s a bit of weekend fun with jeans and a T shirt, and I really like it…

I got my mission moon with a black leather strap. It is the kind of watch that shows I am into watches without the fear of getting mug in the train or scratches. It is a quartz, easy to use and wear watch.

I don't have a moonswatch, but my love for collecting watches started with collecting Swatch Watches in the 1980s. Since I own an Omega, I really want a Moonswatch to go with it-two of my favorite brands on one wrist. You shoot some of the most beautiful content possible-I used it often at work to test the video on Laptops I repair

I called the store in Miami to see if they had any in stock and the lady told me they have at least 700 people waiting there a day to try and buy them out. I wish they would just SELL THEM ONLINE so normal people, and not scalpers could get one.

Being a teenage kid when the first Swatch watches came out, you just can't help but love a Swatch . Anyone who was there at the beginning will agree with "it's a Swatch" you just had to be there. So of course I just had to get one, (mission to Mars)for me . And as proud owner of around 47 different swatches dating back to the first release models, my Swatch sits with its siblings in my collection. And for all those who think it's so light it's almost not there they should try a Swatch skin or if you think it's just plastic, then try the flick flak range, but that's the point of owning a Swatch it's a 2 finger salute to every watch by every brand ever made . And besides the Swatch group owns most of the old watch brands now anyway sort of proves the point.

Literally spot on! My last video is dedicated to this very watch, the Mission to Mars and the absolutely insane journey that was me trying to get it 😅

I walked into the Swatch store in Vegas and bought one no problem. They had 5 different versions to choose from. I picked up the Mission to Mars, I really wanted the Mission to the Moon but it’s still pretty interesting.

I was walking by the Swatch shop in Las Vegas during a recent trip with some friends, and jokingly said "If they have the Tiffany blue Moonswatch, I'm going to buy it" – thinking there was no way they'd have any in stock. Well, turns out... I had a very similar experience to yours :-) I think as long as you know what you're getting into (flimsy plastic watch, big bright colors, etc) it's great. I've been enjoying wearing mine around the house and even out to some events -- it's just superfluous aesthetic fun, and that's why I wear watches to begin with

I bought a SwatchxOmega earth and changed it for a vintage tag heuer 1211, full lume dial. Best deal ever.
