Kemet: Rise of the Gods brings various new and long-awaited features to Matagot's 2020 strategy boardgame Kemet: Blood and Sand.

These modules includes, amongst other things, a 6 player mode, a solo mode and two new tile colors, Amber and Amethyst, with various other modules, content and quality-of-life components to be announced soon. Rise of the Gods is the culmination of the effort of Kemet's design duo formed of Jacques Bariot and Guillaume Montiage. The french designers took the opportunity to bring new features to Blood and Sand, while drawing inspirations from the Ta-Seti and Seth expansions of the first edition of Kemet to imagine the two tile colors.

5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
1.0 - A game that is just bad.

Quite disappointed by the lack of an option to buy the new expansion stuff in the campaign WITHOUT purchasing the big box. I much prefer smaller separate boxes nowadays as it makes it easier to haul around.

This expansion is somehow more expensive than the Kemet Blood and Sand Base Game on top of a bonkers shipping cost.
It's just terrible value for money, which is dman shame because i love this game to bits and the new powers sound super fun.

I wanna buy the expansion without the big box. But it doesnt seem to be possible.

I was super excited for this expansion, but as everyone is commenting, there is too much bloat. I will never play at 6 count, I will never play this solo, unlikely we will use Team mode, I don't want a Big Box. I just want the two new tile colours, trays and minis and the Gods. Done, Thankyou.

Sorry for a comment outside the subject of Kemet: every time I look at the Deep Rock Galactic box behind you it brings a smile to my face and I say "ROCK AND STONE!"
Did you have a chance to give it a go already? If yes - did you enjoy it?

I backed Blood and Sand, spent countless hours painting it all and then realised that I didn't actually like playing the game! Sold it on.

The tuck box vs GameTrayz was dissapointing. Wish they would offer some upgrade or something that can last.

Kemet’s my favorite game. I already backed this today, but man it already feels like too much bloat.

I followed this campaign, saw all the infos before release and was out.

Kemet is already a chunky box. I don‘t want a second EVEN BIGGER Box. I‘m so sick and tired of overexpanded bloat. Plus, the insert is insanely poor made. Cardboard tuckboxes? Come on. I expect there to be an insert upgrade at some point ( I hope for backers) but that is ridiculous.

And the „MSRP“ at 140€? What an arbitrary BS number. And SOMEHOW, they can afford to give that MSRP a 50% cut for this campaign? Even so, this cane would still cost europeans 100€ with VAT and Shipping. Outside of Europe most of the shipping prices were mental as well.

Honestly, I‘ve been told to tread carefully with Matagot, especially in crowdfunding, but I didn‘t expect it to be THAT bad. Got me out of there before it even started.

They would have been better off offering the option to buy indivudal parts of this expansion, 75 euros plus shipping i cant justify, could buy 2+ new board games for that sort of money

Bummed no option for just the new power tiles. But guess I’m going in for all the new stuff as I love Kemet and new power tiles are going to be too hard for me to pass up

Always wise to sit and wait with Matagot. Yucatan was a sloppy release and game.

Kemet is my second-favorite area control game of all time (Rising Sun still has the top spot.) I've been wanting more Kemet content for a while, so this project was an instant back for me. I've played Blood and Sand at least two dozen times, and I love teaching it to new people. Can't wait to try out the new content. I was skeptical of the new bib box inserts being all cardboard until I watched the video preview of what it's designed like (on the latest update). I'm far less concerned with it now. It looks like it will be sturdy enough and will be decently organized.

While having gods and more powers sounds cool, one thing Kemet definitely does not need is more Kemet. More powers to swap in is one thing since you swap out something else for it, but more mechanisms for sure is overkill, be it servants or gods. What this game really needs is a well balanced fast play/ streamlined mode.

A part of me wishes that I had never backed "Kemet - Blood and Sand" back then.
I really don't like what Matagot is doing lately since the "Yucatan" campaign.
"Yucatan" and "Galactic Rennaissance" were way overprized and bad. And now this new Kemet Bigbox campaign is too much scam and bloat. That they force you to buy the bigbox and the solo mode and the new tiles, even if only want the god mode and maybe the 6th player expansion, is abysmal.

I kept waiting for you to break that mini.

Too many red flags
Waaaay too many
No thank you

Thanks for review. Now I'm only interested in the Amber tiles but unlike you, there's too much bloat to find this project worthwhile.

Kemet is fun straight to the point conflict game. All the add ons are simply not needed to me, tehre are better conflict games if you want deeper longer games etc.

I’ve never loved a game so much and been so disappointed in how the game ends. So many times it was a slog where people either attack the leader or just let the second place player(s) get enough points to tie the leader so it goes on another round. And then another round. And another.
