Fallout 5 has recently been confirmed by Bethesds, as the follow-up in the development queue after The Elder Scrolls 6 is completed. Despite the good news though, this probably means Fallout 5 is not coming any time soon... And the gaming media has been speculating up to 20 years as a release time window. Meanwhile, there is a Fallout 5 trailer made by fans, which could very well pass by the real thing! They need to scrap Creation engine and start from scratch or use Unreal engine. They are so behind in the industry in terms of technology. Band aided the creation engine is not a good long term strategy.

Any release guesses before 2027 or after 2031 are unrealistic with people either being ridiculously positive or negative due to whatever their personal feelings on Bethesda are. There would have to be numerous catastrophes to make it drag out any longer. Any shorter then I would worry about us ending up with another super buggy release like 76.

I'd think they would utilise the excursions model, if it's successful, in fallout 5 to include a multiplayer / social aspect to the game at almost no additional cost to Bethesda.

yeah '29 to '32 is more accurate as BGS usually take 3 to 4 years. Even Starfield is really more like 5 years then 7 when you remember they were making 76 at the same time until 2018 and always start the pre-production of their next game while working on their "current" one (aka TES6 is already "in the works" right now)

not to mention the whole pandemic thing and all.

It's kind of sad that Fallout 5 won't even have the same quality of that trailer because of bethesda's creation engine... no way in hell it compares to UE5. Bethesda is too stubborn to change engines or make a huge upgrade to their engine as you will see with starfield. Also, it'll probably come out in a decade or so. Anyway, great video!!

one thing nobody factors in is how the game industry grows all together. Gen X forward grew up with games, and as they age the gaming industry has the potential to overtake all digital media in the future. I would not be suprised with a 2024-2025 release after elder scrolls as this industry continues to grow exponentially.

I feel like Microsoft saying they would decide further bethesda game exclusivity on a case by case basis was just pr speak for "they already started stanfield for other platforms so that will be the last one that isnt exclusive"

The only reason Starfield took this long is, they had to crest all brand new assets! Most of TES and Fallout assets already exist.
