An interesting hypothesis has emerged (that was initially formulated on a supercomputer) about the possible role of bradykinin in COVID-19 morbidity and mortality. The researchers surmise that bradykinin storm may have a greater impact than a cytokine storm as others have suggested (This video was recorded September 3, 2020).

Thanks for this doc. We unfortunately live in a time of science and medical illiteracy and great ignorance which is compounded by our leadership in this country but you remain a voice of reason and source of wisdom. 👍

Thank you for your immense patience in addressing the other national US deficit: critical thinking.

I’m still concerned. Being 23 with no underlying conditions aside from being born premature and having severe persistent asthma- im still not taking any chances. I can’t fathom a complete recovery- I always hear about who has died and who has recovered but never fully. Scares the hell out of me, but I appreciate the no-nonsense and easily understandable report on this pathogen. You’ve done us a great service, Dr. Seheult

Fabulous! The simplification and visualization of the Bradykinin to Kallikrein Pathway and the out comes, is just excellent . We now have one more piece of the puzzle. I feel just a bit smarter today after your lecture....and that means your team has made my day ! :)

I appreciate the calm attention to detail that makes this such a good resource to share.

Hello from a humble provincial property lawyer in New Zealand. I watch and re-watch all Dr Seheult's output. It is explained sop well that I am actually in danger of understanding.
As a former trial lawyer I have a finely tuned BS meter, but if Dr Seheult was giving evidence for the prosecution I would not waste an erg challenging it.

The fact that the 6% issue even needs to be explained is troubling.

Thank you for laying out the facts and ideas clearly. We really have a job on to dispel the misinformation some people are using to downplay the seriousness of the pandemic.

Bradykinin is a potent endothelium-dependent vasodilator and mild diuretic, which may cause a lowering of the blood pressure. It also causes contraction of non-vascular smooth muscle in the bronchus and gut, increases vascular permeability and is also involved in the mechanism of pain👍

Hello again Dr. Seleuth! Happy to see that many studies point in the same direction that you have been leading us all along. Cheers from Montréal.

Thank you for yet another excellent video! I share these often; the world is a better place when more people have accurate information. Thanks :)

Another awesome video! Your exasperation with the armchair experts (and the CDC) is palpable and your put down of the 6% death rate theory is so good it's funny (despite simultaneously being serious). You are the expert. It's fantastic that you're putting such important stuff out there so clearly, succinctly and convincingly. Rock on!

Thank you for this clear concise discussion. Before COVID-19 I assumed most people had a basic understanding of science but the leaps of logic many are now making proves otherwise.

Thank you Dr. For clarifying!
There is a lot of misinformation going on even from unlikely sources.

Thank you and your team for your continued work in the education of the public. It is unfortunate that so many Americans refuse to believe science.

An excellent discussion about cause of death, comorbidities, and statistics. Many people have a difficult time with statistics; unfortunately, I fear there are some who are taking advantage of that fact in the current situation, to muddy the waters about the truth of this pandemic. This is akin to truth by assertion, which isn't truth, but politics; some play politics with this pandemic, which should rather remain in the realm of science.
Thank you for keeping solidly in the realm of science, you consistently do great work!

Thank you for explaining ! So many people clearly didn't read the actual report and just would share the bad take aways they would see online!

I was thinking the same thing when that 6% number was being tossed around in the news. Reporters don’t have the critical thinking that you clearly explained here about “comorbidities”. Anyway I liked your comparison about excess deaths though, because it indicates that the worst of the pandemic in terms of deaths is over (and the more recent spike can be attributed to covid + societal impacts), and now we need to worry about the societal aspects of the disease. Divorces are up, domestic abuse, alcoholism, depression, anxiety, unemployment, homelessness, the list goes on and on. To me it would be more important to focus on how can we resume life back to normal to improve living people’s quality of life.
