Taiwan residents 'won't panic' as China launches new military drills around island | AFP

Taipei residents go about their daily lives, despite China's announcement of new military drills, with ships and planes being deployed around Taiwan. "I won't panic," says engineer Benjamin Hsiao, adding "it's not the first time in recent years" that China has held drills around the self-ruled island.

To resolve the unending tension, I hope China quickly reunify Taiwan back into its fold soon. This will decisively bring to a stop America's mischievous provocations against China via Taiwan and bring peace back to the Asia Pacific region. After all, the whole world in general sees Taiwan as part of China. Why prolong the ambiguities and unnecessary stand-off?

They are chinese of course they are an extension of china. It would be horrible to see brothers fighting each other. Taiwan should accept they are part of china but china should give them the space to continue doing their own thing.
