Amid a surge in COVID cases, Taiwan plans to tighten its entry restrictions starting Wednesday.
Until June 18, foreign nationals without Alien Resident Cards or residence visas will be barred from entering Taiwan, including for flight transits. Exceptions may be granted for emergency or humanitarian reasons. Officials say the ban will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
