In part 2 of our HX Stomp series Jack and Stuart compare the Stomp to the Helix. Answering some common questions that existing owners have and also which one to go for; for people who are completely new to helix.
*This video is not to show the tonal differences (as they use the same chip so sound exactly the same) but more to show how they differ in functionality and features.

Should have just played the same guitar or similar guitar.

For those of you coming to this video in 2021, the HX Stomp’s 3.01 software release updated it from 6 to 8 blocks! It’s pretty great.

I don't get people freaking out about the two different guitars. This video is very useful to demo how the two different units work side by side and is extremely useful. The units have the same sound, guitars don't matter.

Good intentions, but really...we all know that if the insides are identical (circuit designs, algorithms, etc), then of course the sounds will be identical. That is a given, no need to "prove" it to us -- which, of course, you didn't, given the 2 different guitars and players...why didn't you use 1 guitar & player, with a signal splitter box feeding both units? At any rate, what would have been useful is to see the actual Differences (e.g. the Stomp's fewer fx loops, lack of XLR, only 6 blocks can be used, etc), and show us how those limitations operationally limit what it does, compared with the Helix.

Can we just take a moment and appreciate how full that Suhr sounds

The video any true line 6 fan wants. It's nice to see the helix is the landmark that everything is compared to. That's a PHENOMENAL idea

I would love to see you demonstrate HX Stomp in a song. We all know that HX Stomp sounds just like Helix and it sounds great. We all know it’s easy to use. But the video that’s missing right now is showing how much can still be done in a real musical context. What is it like switching banks and snapshots from song to song? Would love a practical application video with songs and context, because you guys are great demonstrators and players

Thank you, guys, for making this video comparison for us. I'm relatively new to the world of multi-effects and modeling, so you've helped me decide to go for the Stomp. Thanks again. It's a like from me.

Great video but why wouldn't they be the same tone? Same engine in both etc..

The same mutated part of my brain that thinks that hot rod station wagons are cool really wants a Pacifica.

The decision to use two different guitars for something like this is baffling.

But...can the HX Stomp switch amp channels on your amp?

If it had more blocks, DSP and access to plug in a microphone with a seperate signal flow I would still have the stomp

What's your preferred method for amplifying the Helix (or Stomp)?
