The lack of the Balanced outputs in the Boss wouldn't be a problem because in a professional situation we always use Direct Boxes to send the signal to the main Mixer 🙂🎸

Great demo by the way!! As always!!

Great comparison and demo song. I have been a Line 6 user for many years, but I actually liked the tones you got out of the Boss in this video. God bless and rock on 😎👍🎸

I love my Helix Floor for all its ins and outs too..I would still love to get the BOSS GT1000 CORE as a small home alternative.BOSS have that long legacy and even their cheapest multieffects over the years have a loveability.I even preferred a ME70 to ME80 so it is just about response and heft and useability.
But really, the best thing about your fantastic videos is your wonderful playing. You are a great musician.Well done, Leo !

Thank you so much. This is one of the best YouTube videos ever made. Soooo informative, and the demo song is also

The GT1000 sounds more open in the treble-frequencies. The helix relies more on the middle frequencies. It's hard to tell which would sound better within a band.

Congrats for this content man, great comparison and video. I think the GT-1000CORE sound more cleaner, organic and natural!!!! All the best.

Bought a GT1000core to replace my strymon timeline, bogner la grange, and Tu3W on my board, i think this one is one of the best solution for ampless rig!

Thanks for your review
I purchased the gt 1000 yesterday, its the best pedal ive ever used. I used the sounds straight out the box really nice machine.
Although im not someone who is very good at programming in different tones, hopefully ill get there in the end.
Honestly ive always been big on organic sounds straight from the amp with a direct signal, But this GT 1000 is quite a nice piece of kit. You could have lots of fun with that
Equally im sure you could do the same on some of these other units. But the one I got is the Boss and I was pleasantly surprised, Enjoy

ive got both core and helix rack . the helix is more immediate, presets sound ready to go. but the sounds can be a bit flat and 1 dimensional, pushed in the mids and lacking depth . but loud and punch through the mix well . this mid focus is why modern metal kinds love it I think . also its strange the way it allocates and runs out of dsp, your building patches and suddenly your stuck with 3 reverb choices because something else stole the dsp . the boss if richer, deeper, more detailed and more low/low mid information . more efx blocks and importantly everything that's there is there and everything can be turned on at once . seamless patch changing as well . but its presets suck and the learning curve is steeper . you have to tweak it and work and make your own sounds . either is great, all the modellers are great these days but i feel like the core rewards a bit more if you put the time and effort in while stomp hits the wall of its capabilities quicker, especially the stomp which is half a normal helix

So much love and respect for music in the making of this video. Thank you Leo

Since the HX stomp has balanced outs, I’d have to go with that for live application. It sounded more processed though, the Boss sounded more realistic.

The GT-1000 blows the stomp away IMO. You can run all 24 effects blocks at the same time and switch to a completely different preset with no latency. No need for snapshots and you can have way more complicated signal paths and effects running. Dual amps. Parallel signal chains within parallel signal chains… it’s ridiculous what you can do. Totally blows the stomp away

Another interesting review, great format to include the comparison charts and of course superb playing.

Nice review once again, thanks, I prefered the sound of the GT1000, it felt more vibrant to me, and 23 amps is more than enough if the modelisations are good .
I have a suggestion, It would be cool and informative if you included some high gain amps in your comparisons, cheers.

A very good video! I think that Boss Core sounds slightly better, and could be my favorite choice for recording, as i love to record two different signal paths of the same part. For live playing, maybe i'll choose the new Pod Go, 'cause it has more switch and the sound should be similar to the hx stomp. Greetings from Italy!

I had a Line6...for a week. Didn't like it at all. Got the Boss GT 1000 core now, love it!

I agree with you. The signal chain options are great with the Boss. I am looking to simplify my gear (need another JMP-1? Kidding, I would not part with mine) and for my everyday situation including recording the Boss seems to be a much better and space saving solution. Ideally I want to just have one unit I can record directly with, be it to my Tascam DP-32 or to my Laptop.
I also like the amp sounds of the Boss more than the HX Stomp. Thanks for comparing the two units, I was looking for a comparison like that. Your playing is great.

I think the boss sounds a bit more “direct” but currently in the uk, hi stomp = £399 and get core = £599 so I would definitely go for the stomp
