I genuinely feel bad for those too young to remember this time. The early 90's were amazing. It felt like we'd won . . . like, everyone had won. Some people called it "the end of history." We were in such a good place . . . man did we fuck that up.

Watching the soldiers rip their Soviet uniforms off and swing them around to Metallica after we'd lived for decades under the Cold War and the threat of nuclear war was something we just couldn't believe we were seeing. I was a Freshman in college when this happened. Wish I could rewind the tape so you call you experience it.
