TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS
ABRSM’s recommended tempo for this piece is 50 bpm so this piece is not to be played too quickly. There is a sad and haunting quality to it, so a good legato touch is important, as is careful use of the sustain pedal. Crescendos and diminuendos need to be carefully observed, along with the multiple changes in general dynamics. Watch out for the molto rit. in bar 25 and also in bar 38.
