Alexander Reinagle was an English composer and pianist who settled in Philadelphia, USA, in 1786, working as a teacher and theatre musician. The original title of this piece is ‘Minuetto’ - Italian for minuet, a dance in moderate triple time. It originated in 17th-century France, but later became popular in Europe.

TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS
ABRSM’s recommended tempo for this piece is 120 bpm.
A generally legato (smooth) touch is preferable, along with an awareness of contrasting dynamics. A steady tempo is important to maintain throughout. Repeats are not required in the exam.
