I just use soap water and a club brush. It looks clean and isn’t illegal

I use the blue oxiclean foam spray that turns white. Its sucks up all the dirt from the grooves, then I hit it with a brush and it gets my irons looking new without scratching them.

All these tour pros in the comment section talking about “now your clubs are illegal.” Man, nobody is checking to see if your clubs are conforming or not when you’re playing a round on a Saturday morning at your local $35 per round of golf. Stop worrying about stuff and get out and hit the ball.

It's a great way to remove your clubs surface coating finish to expose the grooves to water and dirt and create rust. Maybe a brush and toothpick?

Warm water and soap with a good detail brush and a dry rag. Like new every time.

Golf with a soaking wet towel, wipe the club before or after every shot.

Is that thing sharp enough to cut new grooves? How then, does the painter’s tape protect the face?

I use soap, water, and the MSR stove cleaning brush. Best brush I ever found, cleans the grooves with a very tough, stiff plastic filaments. Has a built-in plastic scraper to get rid of any dried mud, grass, etc. All for $6 or $7.

I question if this tool, used with just human hand strength, could sharpen the grooves of a steel club head.

It's not cleaning. it's recutting your grooves, but we need all the help we can get. I just did my my buddies wedges. What a difference

Mine still look brand new, I brush them every single time I use them while on the course.

isn't that suppose to "re-sharpen" the grooves?

Good demo but I prefer to clean them as I go. Every hit that leaves residual on the clubface and I use the tiny pocket brush. My clubs look great and the shorter clubs give great ball interaction on every shot. I often see clubs that are so thick with grime that they're almost smooth. Not great for ball spin! Cheers - Dave

Was the tape useful in keeping it between the lines? 😂

I use a Dremel with a thin cut off blade.

How about a toothbrush and warm water?
Not a chance I'm taking to my Miuras with that thing.

I love it when people say " illegal for tournament play". Pros get new wedges every couple of weeks - amateurs don't have sponsorship and are up against other players with new wedges
Why would / should it be illegal to resharpen the grooves on a wedge ? It's not like you would do that to any other clubs.
