I do this all the time with my favorite characters. Discipline and Gunslinging are a must for me. Discipline because I prefer to stay in light encumbrance at all times, and Gunslinging because like you said, it’s the one everyone should always want! I like to pair Powerhouse and Swordplay together personally because I like drop kicking fools and using the standing execution to insta-kill zeds. Also though, ever since they fixed Acrobatics to where you don’t roll every time you hit the dodge button, I like it too and I will pair Acrobatics with Close Combat so I can hit them with the flying knee and quickly execute them while downed.

Not lame at all. I like building my own stories, so a role play a lot when I play this. I’m not an optimal builder, I build my base and characters according to a story I’m playing out.

Guys I have a tip for you.
Today 01/05/24 the bug for duplicate guns still works for these training manual. It saves a lot of time by waiting for the trader.

Cardio= Backpack (+1 inventory slot)
Inteligence= resourcefulness (+1 inventory slot)
Strength= Any one you want
Shooting= Assault (60 bullet pack per slot and more item stack)

Should mention that once you use one of these retraining manuals that there’s a penalty for it. It takes longer to build that new skill up.

I just recruited my first survivor with the Survived Blood Plague attribute, he is immune to the blood plague, only took a few years but of course he had crap adv training options so I have collected from trader respec books and got him perfect now.

Two best skills are "Weapon Handling" and "Stealth" are a must for any and every character. Weapon Handling allows you to unjam guns without having to do so at base. Stealth allows you to sprint while in crouch, also unlock doors while in crouch. If you ask me that is essential with "Lethal" difficulty.

The fact that we have to jump through several hurdles just to spec the character where we want them to is absurdly stupid.

My ideal kit is probably a backpacking, resourceful, assault, melee skill is whatever I feel suits the survivor, I like to carry lots of stuff, even if I don’t end up needing all of it, it’s always good to have.

Bonus points for also having sewing skill and the hidden pouches trait
