What Is: Adaptive Cruise Control?

Cruise control has been around for a long time now. The first production car to use a speed-control system? The 1958 Chrysler Imperial… and it was called, funnily enough, Auto-Pilot.

Today we’ve come a long way from AutoPilot… sort of. We now have far smarter cruise control systems which we call Adaptive Cruise Control. These aren’t simply there to hold one speed. There’s a whole lot more going on, and today we will explain what adaptive or smart cruise control is all about.

I think it's super important on highways. When people are driving more than 1 hour, they start to lose focus. The adaptive cruise control reduce long distance driving stress.

Since cruise control has become adaptive, and you can't turn that part off, I never use it anymore. I should be able to rely to do one simple thing: that it is keeping the speed I want. Keeping distance I can do myself, indeed by changing the speed on the cc.

It's not worth it especially if you get in a minor fender bender then the tech becomes misaligned and needs calibration get ready for the humongous bill
