Cousin marriage is common in our country. My aunt and uncle are first cousins and their son has ADHD. I also know 2 other first cousins who are married and their child has autism. I always used to think the percentage of having deformed children through cousin marriage would be very small but boy was I wrong.

Honestly, most arguments westerners use against cousin marriage can easily be applied to gay marriage as well. In the end of the day, both are either permitted or taboo in a culture based on societal norms.

Cousin marriage is pretty common in many Asian and African countries. While gay marriage is taboo. While in western countries, it's the other way around. And even then, cousin marriage is still legal in most of them.
