Awesome video as usual! Another important thing about Dragonborn is you can actually import your existing vanilla save and play with all the new optional content in your world without ever having to start over. Additionally I'm committed to never releasing an update which breaks saves.

Would love to get more of these comparison style videos for Mod Lists

For those who are buying Skyrim and installing mods for the first time theres 2 things you need to know.
1)You need to buy the DLC or the Anniversary Edition in order to use these mods.

2)These take up a lot of storage, Legend of the Frost takes up 60gb and Ascensio is 230gb. Legend of the Frost has 475 mods while Ascensio has 1000. Which means buying Nexus Premium ($5 a month) is a MUST unless you want to spend hours clicking to install each mod. I tried to use an auto clicker but the download buttons moves around so it didn't work well.

I ran both of these on a 5600x and 3060ti build on 1440p. Legend of the Frost ran perfectly fine. Ascensio had a lot more stutters, however I did go back to Ascensio to walk around a town and it ran fine for that part at least. How I see it is Legend of the Frost makes Skyrim seem as if it was released in 2015, while Ascensio makes it seem like a 2020 release. Every little thing in Ascensio is high res, while in Legend of the Frost some rocks and stuff may not be as high res as some other objects in the mod but still keeps the essence of the original style.

Other notes for Legend of the Frost:
- The health bars of enemies are also unintentionally disabled. To fix this, uncheck the TrueHUD mod in the ModOrganizer app. But it also shows the mana and stamina of them. Those can be disabled by going to the MCM Menu on the pause screen in game, then under MoreHud -> Enemy's Level -> Enemy's Meters.

- For some quests where you have to turn the rings and insert a claw, it doesn't work. So you have to press tilde button on the keyboard and type tcl to turn off the collision and go through it. Then retype it again to enable collisions again.

-Pressing Q brings up the items that you've favourited, making it much easier to switch weapons and spells mid fight.

You couldn't have timed this better, I was just browsing Vanilla plus lists to do a full playthrough. Awesome compact comparison thank you! I can't wait for future ones!

just ran across this today, and posted it in response to a query on the STEAM forum discussion; as it directly addresses the OP's question. Subbed.

I'm honestly so glad you did this man. It's something a lot of people would find really useful to choose. Ascencio is my favorite but it has the weakest LOD imo.

I'm using Ascensio as a base for my own modlist.
It's beautiful!
I'm playing something like a Nordic Souls with Ascensio graphics.

The side-by-side comparison part was especially awesome👍

This video was great. Especially for those looking for a good foundation to add mods to. I would like another video like this where it's pretty much plug-and-play, mod lists where it covers mostly everything and its good to go for an entire playthrough. Elysium, Aldrnari, Phoenix, Tempus, Living Skyrim, etc.

in the comparisons at the end, I think it would've been cool too add shots of vanilla, to see how the mods compare to vanilla

What happened to the dragonborn modlist? It seems like it has been deleted off of the internet.

Great idea, keep it coming! Seems like the quickest way to find the right modlist

I think aurora is probably the best mod list I've seen that makes the visuals feel modern but stays true to the original feel of the game. should check it out if possible, its really impressive

Hey, I just got done binge-watching all of the Skyrim mod packs. Just curious about which one you think is personally the best because you seem to be more knowledgeable. I've been playing Lost Legacy but it just doesn't feel like the combat is 100% there and I just want a different taste of something else. I just recently bought a new SSD as well for Wabbajack and the bigger mods/modpacks, so anything you can throw my way would help 😂
