Lol this story kind of hit close to home. I've been doing security work since I was 20. I'm 43 now. The only creepy site I was stationed at was monitoring a construction area in a hospital which was a neighbor to a cemetery. Yeah the noises I heard wow. Just brought back those memories

At 33.00 when you first mentioned the cats, a stray cat yowled outside my window, making a rare, fleeting appearance, just to add to the atmosphere. 😽

This was perfect. I've lived in central Florida for about 30 years. I do remember river country. Disney did close it down and has just left it to rot. Some brave or foolish urban explorers have gone in and it's absolutely creepy footage.

Both Disney and Universal have cats that roam the parks at night to help keep the pest population down. I've only seen a few of them.

I love that the cats were heros in this story. I can see Mickey being evil.

One time I was at Disney and Eeyore ate my breakfast. I had pancakes and he just freaking ate them. Like what the hell, dude?! I told the waitress who said "Oh. They're not supposed to do that." She didn't offer to bring another breakfast.

Freaking Disney, man. It's a weird place.

Here we go again. Another person leaving the new guy COMPLETELY UNPREPARED for what they are about to encounter. Just "heres some ridiculous sounding rules. Dont ask why, but follow these rules and youll be fine." Sorry, but these people in these rules stories should have to face their replacements in a locked room for 10 minutes. Also though, the new guys never help themselves, when they break rule #1 within 5 minutes of being on the job. Almost every single time. I still love the rules stories the most.

6:03-7:50 had me losing my mind. Describing how the little brother was acting gave me flashbacks to the days before my diagnosis with type 1 diabetes. LIKE ITS LITERALLY THE SAME. Loss of energy, zero desire for food, withering away despite eating, and excitement only for drinking water.

Here is some speculation:

The park actually ISN'T some sort of dark, malevolent entity. The thirst it inflicts is not purposeful; it is simply the sensation of the water park that is now denied a source of fresh, clean water. In other words its "victims" are simply experiencing what it is experiencing it a misguided attempt to get them to give it water once again.

The Mickeys and Cats are both victims of the thirst. The Mickeys simply want to return the park to its former glory and take victims to increase their numbers. The Cats are those who are opposed to this goal, or at least how the Mickeys are going about achieving it, and protect people in the park.

It all stems from an Entity that is saddened, lonely and confused about being suddenly abandoned. And the simplistic minds of children that are able to "connect" with it and try to fix it as best they know how.

The real monster of this story is the American healthcare system.

i find the cat part interesting since cats are generally a mouse's biggest enemy (at least, that's what Tom and Jerry taught me). So, having those little furballs to be the hero in this type of story is really cool. also, i wonder if the protagonist would take the cat home. it could be a coincidence that the cat has the brother's name, but what if it really is his brother? that the brother might've accidentally drank the forbitten river water and thus became a cat? the story itself is both scary and sad.

When I was 9 my friends parents offered to take me to Disneyland. I said no because I was afraid to go out of state with adults who were already molesting me but I was too afraid to speak then because of their threats.The strange thing is no one questioned why a 9 year old would say no to going to Disneyland.
