Even at 50% off they're still over priced.

Loving my paid off 2016. Chevy Silverado. Wife loves her 2012 Honda civic. That's paid off too. Live below your means. Stay above water.

I blame social media, 100%... People do nothing but see pictures of everyone else in $100, 000 vehicles, and their egos can't handle driving anything older than 10 years old unless it's some exotic vehicle... People are so materialistic and vapid nowadays it's alarming... You're not your clothes.... you're not your shoes... you're not your effing vehicle...

Pricing people out of transportation, wonder if that was planned?

This is why I buy old cars and do my own work.
I can replace the engine and transmission in my vehicle for less than $1, 000.

It's all by design. Soft landing I think refers to our long suffering. Wearing us down. Helpless despair hopeless. That's where they want us.

This is why I have not had a car payment since 2008. I saw how much I was wasting in interest and the value dropping over time. I decided to pay cash and never will have a car payment again

I paid 700 dollars cash for my van 10 years ago, still running great. Today many people are paying 700 dollars a month for 8 years to buy a car, thats outrageous. All you need is a cheap car to get you to work and back, no need to go bankrupt and ruin your credit on a luxury car that will get you to work and back.

To my own research In USA, individuals living in cars due to partial homelessness result from a complex interplay of factors. High housing costs relative to income, stagnant wages, and income inequality drive this issue. Job loss, weak social support, medical expenses, evictions, and lack of affordable housing also contribute, while systemic problems and inadequate policies further perpetuate the phenomenon.

One is better off buying a used vehicle & paying it in full, with no monthly payments.
If you have vehicle monthly payments, your a slave to it, until it's paid off.
I purchased a 2006 pontaic vibe from a friend uncertified as is for $150 .
Paid another $300 to get it on the road, safeties & everything.
I'm still driving it 8 years later & going strong.
No car payments, no stress, no problems .
3 years ago i purchased a 1987 Yamaha XJ750 cc midnight maxium motorcycle as is for $350
Fixed it my self with zero dollars spent on repairs, just 12 hours of my time working on it.
It runs like a champ.
No bike payments, nothing.
Yes its old & it gets me from point a to b, that's what really counts.
People these days want the latest & greatest new vehicle that they buy & can not really afford with monthly payments.
They may look rich, but really cash strapped poor.
Who do you want to impress, as for me nobody.
I'm content with what i have, the good old simple life.

We won't be at fair value until prices drop 50%.

For those who are still able to pay for auto insurance, it’s going to get worse. We’re stuck with the major increases because of the uninsured motorists. We’re absorbing the cost 💲 It’s so ridiculous when the monthly car & insurance payments are equal in cost! 🚗💸💸💸💸
It’s been going on for quite some time now.

I’ve been watching the vehicle market for a while. I need a new used car but am holding off until the bottom is found. Being debt free is a wonderful thing, and I want to stay that way.

I think we knew when these prices spiked it had to come back down because of the height of the prices. I never imagined it would be like this though.
