What a legendary duet ! George Michael and Paul McCartney reunited for a re-record of 'Heal The Pain' (original song released on Listen Without Prejudice in 1990). This version is available on the Deluxe edition of the LWP album.

George was such a musical genius that he wrote this song paying homage to Paul McCartney's influence on him. He did it so well that when he sang it with Paul it sounded like a McCartney song. Like everything else he did, George nailed it dead on!

McCartney was born in '42. He was 63 when he recorded this track in 2005, and his voice was still unparalleled. What a delightful freak of nature. :-)

George Michael is one of the best writers of his generation and I’d humbly say easily the best singer.

And he was still underrated.

One of my favorite scenes in the freedom documentary is when George talks about writing and recording this song with Paul McCartney. He was a complete fan and totally within his element. The joy on his face is priceless. RIP George.
