The tempo shift I think really makes John stand out. He talks about papers so slowly like he doesn't even want to finish the sentence. So when he then laughs and says something he actually wants to say he speaks faster, more coherently, and with a humorous tone. Hinting at the fun side of him we see when he isn't working.

I think Adam Scott and John Cho are both fantastic actors, but you can really see why John Krasinski got the role here.

Both john and adam captured a lot of pessimism and bored office worker in jim, but john really balanced that out with childlike goofiness which was perfect for all the pranks he was set to pull further in the show

John just has that "dead inside" quality that the other guys, while still great in their own ways, just couldn't muster haha

John is the absolute perfect Jim, no one else even comes close. Beyond delivering the lines, it is all his non verbal gestures that portrayed Jim as easy going, fun loving, nonchalant about his job, a little mischievous even, very charming
