I was literally thinking what animation pipelines are for the VJ/rave visual scene.
I'm going back to the basics for me - started learning illustrator just this week - will be learning photoshop next.
Desired pipeline will be: Illustrator > photoshop > Aftereffects > Alley > Resolume Arena

Great content as always! pretty much been using the same programs. One thing that I would recommend too is motion array and envato elements for those gigs that you dont have much time to prepare the visuals, is a life saver and sometimes some good clip selections and the effects on resolume can get you a good set

I'm a total noob to vj visuals. I mix my own techno mixes and add basic visuals that I made using Sony Vegas where I play with filters and masks but now I want to get into 3D animation to make better visuals. This video helps me understand where to start more or less so I thank you for your generous insight.

At the moment I'm doing everything in Blender because it feels so snappy. Sometimes I will make animated materials in Resolume and bring them into Blender.

Stoked to see how much better C4D w Redshift integration might get w UE5 as it’s there… but not quite there; but also Project Avalanche is about to be a super interesting addition to experiment with in UE5+. Just crossing my fingers we don’t see an ominous subscription…

Cheers man, you make it all seem possible. I'm not sure how I would start with most of those but a fly through of terrain that I make in unreal is at least understandable to me. Thank you

This is great! I've been using blender for a while and just bought my first midi controller for resolume. Hope to be a great VJ one day!

I would love to start creating my own visuals. I just don't think I am creative enough. Love the tools though, wish I was better at using them. Great information as usual. Thanks!

Great video, I'd also like to add Fusion to the list for compositors, also the free version comes with the free vesion of Resolve.

Also, btw, Touch desginer was made by one the originals creators of Houdini which why they both have similar wording and technical term.

Stellar overview, Sean! I'm using mostly UE5 lately, by rendering clips with the Path Tracer. I purchased Resolve for its Noise Reduction feature that's doing wonders, especially in nature scenes with extensive overuse of volumetric fog )) I was considering Topaz, as well, but chose Resolve and still curious about Topaz's abilities. I wish we could render DXV's straight from Resolve though. Hope to see hands-on VJ content creation tuts from you in the future!
