He didn't lose his will to live, he was just at peace and able too go home

Although it could be said he lost the will to live like Padme

This explanation is great, that’s why Star Wars is not just a simple action franchise. Unlike the other action franchises, Star Wars has tons of characters and each of them reassembles an aspect of life, a lesson for us to learn. Letting go is one of them

Because his suit, which was life support failed as he removed his airtight helm which was also a breathing apparatus. When damaged in the past and his life support was compromised, he was able to push through for a time on sheer anger, hatred and dark side power.

When he lost both, he surrendered to a peaceful death.

Great point. I remember in one of the expanded universe novels or comics that in his meditation chamber Vader would remove his helmet and as long as he stayed angry he could breathe.

As the anger would inevitably fade so would his ability to breathe.

Anakin and Padme just peacing out after meeting their kids for the first time is kinda hilarious… out of context. by that point in ROTS and ROTJ i’m sobbing.

Outstanding! i've argued this point before.
It's been shown several times that Darksiders can survive mortal wounds by using the Force to sustain them. An unnatural act.
Had Vader's suit failed, the Force would have sustained him. Had Vader let go of his hatred, his cybernetics would have maintained his body.
It was the loss of both "supports" (anchors, cages, however you want to see it) that left Anakin to the "natural course" and permitted to die.

it is definitely a fact that the sith are obsessed with their physical being and holding on to life while the jedi, such as we see with qui gon, are willing to let go which is the biggest difference we see in the jedi and the sith.

Yes! Also he took his mask off.
The mask kept him alive.
He would practice healing himself in that black sphere meditation chamber sometimes without the mama however he had trouble maintaining it.
With him turning to the light side and loosing that ability mixed with removing his mask he couldn’t live.

I Think so too, But again I do think that Palpatine’s lightning on Vader made his Body start to go bye bye and since he let go of his hate and simply decided to die, He did die.

Also I assume that the spikes always cutting into him is still cannon as he wouldn’t remove that.

And I think after a while Palpatine was ok with Vader removing the lightning weakness cuz Vader literally was that loyal but Vader still had some restrictions that stopped him from reached full potential.

(With enough anger the lost limbs would not be a problem as The Darkside removes those limits)
