Ivana was born in Croatia and moved to London when she was 22. As an activist, she is passionate about saving the world and believes that we can all make positive changes.

1000 LONDONERS

This film is part of 1000 Londoners, a ten-year digital project which aims to create a digital portrait of a city through 1000 of the people who identify themselves with it. The profile contains a 3 minute film that gives an insight into the life of the Londoner, as well as their personal photos of London and some answers to crucial questions about their views on London life. Over the course of the project we aim to reveal as many facets of the capital as possible, seeing city life from 1000 points of view.

I would describe myself as very positive person, very cheerful, kind and always trying to accommodate and help people and people think I'm charming I don't know, I maybe am, and I would say that I probably am an activist, yes. I'm passionate about saving the world I know it might sound a bit extreme but I feel that everyone can make positive changes in this world. When I arrived from Croatia, I was only 22. And I didn't really realise what London is all about, or the culture here and it took me ages to figure out that London is a big city, has massive variety of people and cultures, and everyone has their own ways of thinking. And whatever you think might be the right thing, other people might totally disagree with you. I would love people to start understanding that we can make a change, we can all contribute, we can cooperate. We don't need to be fighting each other, and we don't need to argue all the time. I've been here for such a long time that I do feel that I'm both a Londoner and a Croatian, and English and all these cultural differences are now part of me.
