Warp Drive Has FINALLY Become Reality! German Physicist Found A Solution!

There is no question that mankind will never be able to fully explore the universe. The Proxima Centauri star, which is the closest one to Earth, is over four years away. For a human to reach there, it would take tens of thousands of years even with the finest propulsion technology currently in use.

However, it might be possible to shorten the distance traveled. There are numerous methods for doing that, ranging from nuclear propulsion to laser-accelerated solar sails. But even with the help of these technologies, a human lifetime would not be very successful. Only those who can travel at the speed of light or faster can actually access the galaxy.

60 years ago they had cell phones in Star Trek and no one believed that they were possible to make, and now we have an upgraded version of them in our pockets

2020s: warp drive is impossible
1960s: landing on the moon is impossible
1900s: flying is impossible
1400s (estimated to the best of my half-asleep research): crossing the ocean is impossible

every major stride in human history was thought to be impossible before somebody found a way to do it.

Miguel Alcubierre Moya (born March 28, 1964) is a Mexican theoretical physicist. Alcubierre is known for the proposed Alcubierre drive, a speculative warp drive by which a spacecraft could achieve faster-than-light travel.

Soon enough, like the previous barriers, flat earth to round earth, man's ability to fly, sound barrier, the speed of light is just another barrier yet to be crossed. May not happen in our life time, but the barrier will fall, none the less.

Perhaps Dark Matter is the missing clue for travelling faster than the speed of light.

Light doesn't have a speed. It has a rate of induction. Light doesn't travel, it propagates. This makes travel faster than light highly probable, even instantaneous travel.

Okay, I'm not a scientist so forgive my ignorance but I really dig this stuff. This is the way I see it in my limited amount of knowledge. If point A and Point B are 100 LY's apart- and by somehow bending the fabric of time narrows the distance lets say 99.9%, the distance between the 2 would become more achievable even by current propulsion technology. So essentially, you don't need to break the speed of light to travel long distances, the travel time just becomes shorter?

I'm waiting for instantaneous Teleportation.

Since voyager 1 was launched in 1977 it is still the fastest spacecraft ever launched. In over 40 years no advancement in speed has been achieved. it like going from a horse and cart to the space shuttle overnight

I firmly believe that we CAN and WILL find a way to travel faster than light. I may not live to see that day, but I know it WILL happen. Figuring out FTL travel is the only way humanity will survive.

Even if it's theoretically possible, I don't think FTL will ever be achievable in practice. This is one time I really, really hope I'm wrong, though.

Why do people think that Warp drive is impossible? My answer would be : people think it's a Syfy fantasy. How about going to the moon? People thought it was Syfy wishful thinking at one time, but in 1969, man put his footsteps on the moon. (Warp Drive is possible)

So by travelling 35, 000 mph for 40 years, Voyager 1 has travelled about 1 light-day

Warping space around the ship would indeed have the effects described. The problem is that we still have not learned how to achieve this warping of space. What we need is something like in the Mass Effect franchise--i.e. a method of using electromagnetism to create a gravity-like repulsive effect. Right now, the only way we have of manipulating gravity to the needed degree involves moving around impractically large amounts of ultra-high-density mass.

Sorry, but this is not how a warp drive would function. No particle can be accelerated faster than light. But Spacetime can. There are parts of our Universe that expand faster than light because the fabric of spacetime can expand faster than light. The trick of the Warp bubble is to not accelerate the Star Ship, but to move the Space around the Star ship. While you seem to travel faster than light from an outside observer, it is only the bubble that moves while the ship is stationary inside the bubble. That is why you could travel faster than light. You don't, only the spacetime around you moves.

Interesting stuff. I just Subscribed to your channel. Looken forward to seeing much more. Cheers !!! 😎😎

Hurry it up- I want to meet some Vulcans.

With a warp field the bubble is the object being accelerated and not the ship or people within it. This is a workaround for special relativity where the ships mass would theoretically not increase with acceleration.
