PreSonus Studio One: Latency... and how to correct it!

Ever get weird delay when you record in PreSonus Studio One or any other DAW? It's probably latency caused by your buffer size being set too high. My PreSonus 1810c needed some adjustments and here's how...

I found the answer !

: click up at the top left where it says “StudioOne”

Click “OPTIONS”

Click “Audio Setup”

Click “Processing” ( within Audio Setup)

Click DropoutProtection “Low”

That will completely * stop latency for recording

I appreciate people like yourself spending your time demonstrating your tips and tricks. On drums, latency isn't going to work. While recording to music, is there a way to monitor in real time? When I have time to play, I'll spend it practicing rather than learning my DAW properly. It's time to really dive in

hi, i'm running studio one 6 with an akai mpk mini keyboard and i've tried everything you suggested and still experience latency when trying to record midi. totally frustrating as i cant really create until i can get past this issue. funny thing is i also use fl studio to create tracks and i dont experience any latency at all.. is there any other suggestion you can make??

There seems to be no way of punching in (while hearing the previous track up to that point) and still recording while monitoring plugins. EX: I'm trying to record a guitar while monitoring Ampire with some distortion. As long as the blue monitor input button is on I'm fine. But go to punch in. I need to turn off the input monitor so that I can hear the punch point but now loose the Ampire (channel plug in) effects on the guitar. After much experimentation I found that if I record the guitar on 2 tracks simultaneously with the same plugins and keep the input monitor on for one track and off for the other I can get my desired end. Seems like the long way around but it works. Any other ideas?

Hi Great vid. What would you recommend for Sample Rate since you said 32 to For block size?

So how do you get that "device block" thingy?

Does plugin latency affect the audio bounce ? I bounce a song out of studio one and the beginning had a volume fluctuation at the start and them stabilize after a couple ms the pluging I used had 127ms latency when I opened up the cpu bar

Would you use 32 if you’re recording with plugins on the inserts?

Dude, if you're gonna mumble and talk so low, probably don't have the backing music. just sayin

your backing track to the video is WAY TOO LOUD... and you mumble at certain parts... With all due respect, but people don't click on this to hear your backing track- they want to know about latency or whatever else and need to understand what your saying without fighting the background music
