These daws with high CPU... literally all of them makes one wonder how talented the crew over at Reaper truly are. It will run on a dell notebook from 2002

Don't know what you did differently on mixing your voice over today, or whether you lucked out with YouTube compression, but your voice sounds super crisp and nice. Thanks for the tip as always!

I am really tire of studio one cpu issues...it looks like studio one lies all The time about that cpu performance level...i am mixing, The cpu performance is 60% but i can play all The without lot of issues, spikes, etc. I try many many many combinations of configurations in device block size and processing dropout protection...i am beginning to realize that it is a big bullshit and Studio One is not ready for a heavy session, full of plugins...pro tools is more simple and don't lie ...i always had these issues since i bought studio one 4 working on my Windows...now with studio one 5, i had to move to Mac and there it is. If somebody knows how to be free of this, please tell me...

Thank you for the tip mate ! Such a parameter should be set by default at install.

Hi Gregor. Ironically, I have had to turn off this very same feature today because I filled the cache folder up! I think it is always better to use the cache because the system acts faster. However, I am SO glad that the user can bypass this because, when you fill the cache up, you're unable to add stuff to your production. I am commenting purely on my own experiences with Studio One 4.6. Many thanks to Gary at Presonus for explaining the opposite solution!!

What if you already did this and still doesn't work. What will be the next thing to do ? Just want to know an alternative because a computer upgrade is out of my budget for now.

Now do the same for improving the performance with CPU lool... Not sure you'll find a simple hack, it seems to be impossible... The 24 cores of my threadripper remain unused... ^^

hey, what is up, im having some issues with my drums recordings, not usually but an audio Technica pro63 broke down or stoped working cause the same issue i believe, when record drums i use studio 1824c and some audiotechnica mics (recently an sm57 cause my At Pro63 was affected, well... when i finish my record and see everything is fine casue anything looks bad or something... when i play the tracks At some point you hear as if the audio is saturated, but litteraly completely saturated, everything, without leaving any silence as if a voltage signal were entering it or something like that. and i pause it in that moment at the time line and and no anomaly is seen until I zoom in on that fragment, it's seen on some channel of the multitrack, It varies a lot depending on what channel it is, snare, kick, overheads, tom... its not that tipical audio saturation i sense something worse, pls help hahaha D":
I have changed my voltage regulator because this one jumps the switch and turns off but still with the other one

Hello Gregor could you make a tutorial on how to (rooting) work with either Vienna ensemble or AudioGridder on studio one 4 for the purpose of solving CPU/DISC problem. Thank you.

I cannot do anything really anymore. Studio one 6 keeps spinning the blue wheel right after starting up, no project loaded. When loading, I cannot play as it just keeps getting stuck spinning the wheel. We have perfomances coming up in two weeks, rehearsals next week and I direly need a solution. Reinstallation did not work, firewall setting changes did not help, I am desperate. Never had such issues with Cubase...

Hello Gregor. I have the Behringer x touch one correctly installed working fine. But it won't recognize any channels after the 1st initial 8. You can't channel select more switch to the next bank. It works fine in both Cubase Pro and in Logic, but not in Studio One Pro for some reason. The unit has the latest firmware. Any suggestions?

Thanks for that tip. I was curious if you might be able to help with a different question. This is in regard to either SO 5.3 or 5.4. I have two Windows 10 laptops. If I restart the computers and then open SO with plug in scanned turned on, it can take about 5 or more minutes to scan 275 plug ins. It gets to about 150 and then blows through the rest quickly. If I then shut down SO and re-open, the scan goes fast in less than 10 seconds. I have to presume then that the cache is in RAM since the computer restart seems to clear the scan cache and force the long scan again.

I don't understand why, and let's assume the plugins don't change often, that the cache isn't built on the C drive and just appended or edited if a plugin is added or removed. Then SO could simply look for what has changed since the first scan and leave the rest alone. Or does it have to do with verifying that the license for a plugin is still current?

Or am I missing something?
